So one of Tarantinos biggest inspirations for The Hateful Eight, was The Thing. Morricone did the soundtrack for both and he actually put some music he made for The Thing but didn't end up using, in the Hateful Eight soundtrack.

original assault on precinct 13 as it was so low budget it only has one track repeated throughout. pretty heavy for 76, I'm surprised it didn't make it onto the autonomic podcasts.

Carpenters soundtrack in Halloween is incredible, possibly elevates the film to a new level more than any other soundtrack

Was in the news few weeks back that Morricone slagged off Tarrantino calling him a hack in some Playboy interview. Hes since denied he said that mind.

Not so much a score as it's Bach apparently, but so so good.

Also, this wasn't to everyone's liking but I thought Jonny Greenwood's score for There Will Be Blood was ace.

Lol the guy who did the interview admitted he made most of it up, he had also told Morricone he was interviewing for a completely different magazine, presuming the man wouldn't want anything to do with Playboy I suppose. Fuck knows what he was thinking. I mean the film finally won Morricone an Oscar. Which considering his career, the fact he somehow didn't win one until 2015 is fucking absurd.

Halloween III (John Carpenter & Alan Howarth)
Sorcerer (Tangerine Dream)
Taking of Pelham 123 (David Shire)
Troubleman (Marvyn Gaye)
La Planete Sauvage (Alain Goraguer)
Rocky (Bill Conti)
Assassination of Jesse James by the.... (Nick Cave)
Dirty Harry (Lalo Schifrin)
American Gigolo (Giorgio Moroder)
Road to Perdition (Thomas Newman)

Moon as Daz says, and as some have already mentioned Goblin soundtracks are quality - the one for me is Profondo Rosso which is another Argento film. Proper Progy.

Morricone of course. Not just westerns but the crazy 70s chase scene beat stuff.

I'm well into soundtracks and library music - I did a mix of only film scores a few years back. Its here if anyone can be arsed.
