It’s definitely one of those that you need to play in regular stints of 3 hours to get the most out of it. I struggle to find more than an hour at a time to play anything these days.

I don't know why casual gamers have all jumped on this anyway, it's about as hardcore as a game gets with It survival mechanics and complicated control scheme. It's only attracted the COD/PUBG/Fortnite heads because its from the GTA devs and now they are all moaning about it because it's not GTA in a western skin. They would become a very predictable company if all they did is reskin GTA.

Download length is going from 3 hours, to 2 hours, to 1 hour, back to 99 hours. What the fuck is happening? Is there anyway to speed it up? Or am I slowing it down by using my internet to type to you gang of desperadoes?

I do love the games tbf. Throughout my life I've usually had one 'ardcore obsession, it used to be football then it was drum and bass then it was grime, now its gaming.

Have you got the PS4 plugged into the router?

I admit I was basically wanting GTA V western skin lol. I need more fuckery than survival mechanics, the gunplay is sick though. not saying it’s a bad game but just not my cuppa Darjeeling

One thing I don't like is how the shops are pretty much the same in every town, for a game with so much detail you'd think a new area would have more variation in items sold and more different things to do. Finding a new town should have loads of new things to discover. It's 120 years too soon to have every town be the same selection of shops.

Yeah the duplication thing is weird considering the level of detail.

Like when you get on a wagon and both horses are carbon copies of each other right down to the markings and musculature. How hard would it have been to just spawn two different horses or randomise the colourings?

Still loving the shit out of it though. If you got the preorder bonuses, definitely do the Valentine bank robbery as you make a few grand out of it and can pretty much max out your camp and weapons.

I remember when GTA5 first came out you'd walk down the street and every car would be the same model, I think it got addressed eventually or at least I didn't notice it in the PC version.

Maybe they were pushing things too hard and had to dial it back a bit? Who knows.

The 20 minutes travelling is gettinga  bit tedious. Im a bit bored m8's.

The missus got genuinely disgusted when I sat at some randoms campfire, got bored and shot the woman sat there. She took Rudiger jnr to bed.

To be fair I suspect a lot of things in this would bother me and I'm more than likely on par with you in terms of rinsing video games. I've never really been a huge fan of realism and survival mechanics (I do like the idea but I just can't be bothered) though so it's probably more a matter of personal taste.

Anyway I'm probably gonna hold out in case a PC version turns up like I did with the first one so it'll be a while before I find out. Even that was straddling the border of tediousness at times because the fast travel seemed expensive at first and was, more often not, a bit out of the way. I simply don't have the patience for these things after abusing the shit out of the taxis in GTA lol

Aren't you more into retro games? Swear I see you moaning about modern games a lot.

I've got fast travel available but haven't used it once and didn't in the original either. I enjoy traveling around and you always bump into something going on.

Generally I don't like survival mechanics but I don't find them annoying here, it's not like you just drop dead if you don't eat

You are right I do whinge about a lot of things in modern games but I do swing both ways I normally lean towards the arcadey quick intense blast of action with no real consequences side of things which is pretty much confined to the indie scene these days.

I've always got time for the big Rockstar releases though, I've completed all the main GTAs since Vice City* which is not normally the sort of thing I do with open world games at all. Also having appeared to slag it off just now I probably should say that I didn't think RDR1 was bad, just a bit annoying at times.

*I'd have done the same with 3 as well if it weren't for half the bastard pedestrians trying to kill you once you complete the story

Don't think this counts as a spoiler as it doesn't reveal any story details but this was probably my favourite moment of the game so far.

The lighting, framing and composure of that shot is up there with any Hollywood film. The music and events leading up to it were pure goosebumps too.

Trying to hunt legendary animals is a fucking pain in the arse, trying to follow the glowing track but then it drains your dead eye and you lose where you're going, and then if you don't make the kill you gotta start over again. Long.

Most of the reviews say they finished it in about 60-70 hours, Ive done 68 hours and am only on 30% of the story.

If you press both left and right analogue sticks it goes into a tracking mode that doesn’t drain dead eye. You can also use Cover scent lotion to disguise your smell. Also with legendary animals it doesn’t matter how you kill them as you will get a perfect pelt whatever, so the rifle is pretty effective.

That's what I've been pressing but I swear it still drains dead eye? Maybe it's because I had my bow in my hand, will have to check it again. I've been using cover scent but I didn't know you don't need to be careful killing them, the last few I've hit with an arrow and it didn't kill them.

I've been doing some hold ups so I can complete the challenges and now my honour has gone to shit. I don't know how you could ever get maximum honour tbh, it would be a bit of a boring way to play, you couldn't get the challenge achievements and you'd be skint.

Yeah, for normal animals you need to be careful how you kill them or you’ll ruin the pelt. The biggest way to get an honour jump I’ve found is by donating a load of items (wedding rings etc) to camp at once.
