That's it, always pictured a couple of wrestlers

Bringing back old promotions hardly seems worth it, the name won't mean much to the kids and the people who used to attend will mainly have stopped going raving

The promotion for this must have been shit. I didnt even know it was on until about a week ago. An event like this, they should have flooded everywhere with adverts

Sounds like a carbon copy of what happened to Dreamscape at MK Bowl a couple of years back. Not enough ticket sales to run the event.

Nah, this was one of:

1) A scam
2) A promoter who had no idea what he was dealing with
3) A scam

The Fantazia name really has been tarnished over the years, especially with this and that Australian fiasco.

Looking at the guys posts I’d go with option 2, though it seems he knew the writing was in the wall a few weeks ago and kept trying to promote it.

This whole sheep poo postponement seems like an attempt to halt refunds due as it was stated in the T&C that refunds wouldn’t be given if it couldn’t go ahead due to matters out of their control, they might even get away with it but I wouldn’t be showing my face in Bristol any time soon.

I would love to agree with you, I really would but personally my thoughts are..

He had a great initial idea (who wouldn't want to see some of the sets they had to offer?!), saw the scope of earnings then decided to run with it with no regard to proper planning. Then the greed took over and when he was required to put in the hard work, it fell to bits. But wait... the money kept coming in!

I could be wrong mind.

Yeah that sounds pretty likely, does the guy have any experience in promoting before this? I remember seeing something about this event a few months back and thought it looked good, sure it was somewhere near Bath to begin with unless I’m getting mixed up with another event.

Local paper had an interview with the farmer in which he stated it wasn't much, just some sheep escaped from an adjacent field, and anyway he offered to have a team hand clear the field or use one of several others available and the organiser wasn't intererested

Yeah I read that, that was the final nail really in terms of the promoters story.

He really should get done for fraud imo.

I'd agree, but the Dreamscape one was evidently a promoter who had no idea what he was dealing with as opposed to a scam.

There is a huge difference between trying to put on a regular Dreamscape club night somewhere like Roadmender in Northampton and trying to pull off a 5k to 10k attendee outdoor event, especially in a built up area like MK where events and gigs frequently run into issues with the council when it comes to getting their license.

People just need to make sure they buy tickets for these sorts of events on their credit cards as you can claw back your funds up via your credit card provider to 6 months after the purchase if the event gets cancelled.

It’s the same here isn’t it?

I don’t know the guy but reading his posts before he deleted his page he seemed like a raver become promoter that was completely out of his depth when the event hit complications. From what I read he’d already had to switch venues once after some issues with the authorities, it does seem that he was attempting to hold the event rather than just take people’s money and run.
