Switching Energy Suppliers

Not sure if anyone else on here has sat on their energy supply for as long as I have but after doing some comparisons and spending some time on the phone to British Gas I've managed to save £270 a year by joining Bulb.

One of the UK's best rated 100% renewable energy supply companies - single tariff for duel fuel.

If you do a bit of research and feel like switching (literally took me 2 minutes) then use my referral link and we both get £50 on our account.

Finally pulled my finger out and did some research and pretty impressed with their ethics and the saving.

How can your electricity be 100% Renewable?

Non-Renewable and Renewable sources of electricity are all sent to a single National Grid, you can't pick and choose lol.

The best kind of energy
We supply all our members with 100% renewable electricity and 10% green gas. When you switch to Bulb, we make sure that for every unit of electricity you use, a unit is produced and put on the grid by a renewable source like Llyn Brenig Hydro in North Wales. In addition, 10% of our gas comes from biomethane. That's gas produced from organic matter like sewage and manure - which is then reinjected onto the grid (minus the smell).

My energy usage pre changing my tarif a few months ago was outrageously bad for just two people. Something like double or more the average usage for a full family household

Oh OK. Makes some sense I guess.

However, this is still a LIE: "We supply all our members with 100% renewable electricity" ... such bullshit

They do indeed supply electricity on it's own - although for me most of my savings appeared to be on the gas side of things.

Just thought I'd bump this thread...

We've been with Bulb for a couple of months now and they've been bang on. The switch was effortless and they deliver with the referral system - we've had over £250 of credit added to our account (5 referrals signed up) and they use that credit to pay for your energy bill. The phone app works fine for submitting readings and I've spoken to one of their staff on the phone and they were polite and helpful.

We're saving on our bills (quite significantly at the moment) over our old British Gas account.

For anyone sitting on your current energy supplier because you can't be bothered to switch, etc. It's a 2 minute job - pop onto the Bulb website, check their prices and if you fancy it use my referral code to sign up. We'll both have £50 of credit added to our account if you do.

Thanks m8s. x

I just do whatever Martin Lewis says. I'm aware he's a bell piece.

With Bristol Energy currently because none of the MSE big collective switches were better.

I've been with nPower forever. Never bothered to look around for a cheaper deal. Time to make the switch, I think! I'll see if I can do it this week, Daz.

nice one dude!

if you pop on the website it'll tell you what you can save and if you're feeling it you sign up and press the go button and they do everything else for you. eventually they'll email and ask for a final meter read and they'll get in touch with npower and fuck them off for you - you won't have to do anything yourself.
