TRAVEL TALK & SPECULATION

Returning to Thailand in a month and looking for some ethical elephant shindig if anyone has a recommendation, plus any other ideas for decent things to do close by, debating Ko Chang/Ko Mak again but happy to hear suggestions for the north as I skipped it last time,

Think I'll be in Cambo for a month Mid May as well @ Marcus if you've got any recommendations good sir

If you are going to Cambodia, try and go to Malis in Siem Reap on Phnom Penh (https://www.malis-restaurant.com/) - possibly the best meal I have ever had. Not to expensive either.

Cambodian cuisine is tasty.

Tallinn is awesome, been quite a few times. The girls there are next level!

Plenty to explore and there’s a nice mix of old and new. Decent night life too, big dnb scene.

Going to Sri Lanka in a month, timed so I can see a couple of days the England v Sri Lanka test at the Galle cricket ground. Fully hyped for that and also for all the daft wildlife/birdlife.

Anyone been? Any recommendations? I'd love to go to the north to some of the Tamil areas, but might not have time.

Best country I've ever visited, I fucking loved Sri Lanka. If you're in Galle there's some amazing beaches on that stretch of coast, Mirissa is a couple of miles East and well worth a visit. Loads of blue whales around there if you want to go out in a boat and watch them.

Didn't go north but got a train/car from Colombo > Kandi > Nuwara Elia > Mirissa

Nuwara Elia was probably my favourite place, lots of proper old skool colonial buildings and tea plantations in the hills. I want to go back.

I used Revolut in Thailand and it's brilliant.  You just need internet and an ATM

about 2 weeks I think. If you've got a week and are based in Galle, that'd probably be enough time to get a car north to the wildlife reserve in the middle-south of the island. I forget the name of it though.

Talinn is awesome. Had a great time there. Good place to shoot every gun under the sun and the girls are next level and game.

Malta is great too. The locals eat a fish called lampuki which is great. Fatten up on pastizzi too, so good.

You know!

Do you prefer the peas or ricotta cheese version ?

Also have you tried prickly pears ?  Close run with mango or watermelon as the finest fruit.
