Quick mattress question

So, these new stylee mattresses that come in a box- Eve, Simba, Leesa, etc etc.

Emperor's New Clothes? All about the old school pocket sprung shizzay? Or the way forward?

All I know is I wake up every ten minutes with numb hands and arms, FFS I need a new mattress as I haven't slept properly in months.

Please give me your finest slice of opinion gentlemen

I've got this.... it's the most comfortable thing I've ever slept on. It's as close to heaven as I've ever got in a bed.

Badrid, that's not bad for all in. That Tempur looks sick too, is that springs with foam on top?

I'm very tempted by all this foam stuff now, all the spring ones I've had ended up sounding like my knees

Best advice is go and try them... especially if you have back problems as some will make it worse if they are too soft etc etc

The one I've got is pretty firm... I think you'd have to jump on it daily for about 5 years to even get close to feeling the springs.

Personally, I'm not a huge fan of the all foam Tempur ones. I wear all my stress in life in my shoulders/neck and find they kill me.

I'm not a big guy but I'm quite heavy for my size. I sit down all day and I also hunch up without realising.

It's my sciatic nerve that's playing merry hell atm though. I feel like a boomerang some days when I get up

About to drop on a Tempur Ottoman in King as we need the storage space.

Gonna probably go for this Hypnos mattress on top:

It's got like a 'pillow top' thing made from goose feathers or some shit. Supposed to act like memory foam but without the extra heat, etc.

About £2300 all in but fuck it, you spend like half your life in bed, right? Both me and Kate are suffering with aching necks, shoulders and backs as we're currently sleeping on some piece of shit mattress from way back.

Like the look of that mattress. First thing I see when I see Ottoman is a crocodile though

Daz, that's exactly like the one I just posted - the pillow top thing is heaven.

Cannot understand people that are tight on their bed & mattress. You spend more time there anywhere else and it has a huge impact on your back/neck/how much sleep you get.

I have a hypnos and love it but don't get one with a built in topper.  That means that you cannot properly rotate/flip it.  To the extent that mine now has a bit of a dip where I sleep in it.  If I were able to flip it now and then that would have been avoidable.

yes mate, so it is. good to hear someone else rating that type of mattress / topper.

it's pretty much a freebie as well as it's our wedding gift money that'll pay for it.

I got a Silentnight one last week but I think it's a bit too firm. Changing it will be a ballache though.

Super king tempur when I'm 'ere. Space away from the missus is key and she agrees.

Tempur original 21 mattress (the firmest they have). Go to Warren Evans and negotiate a 100 night trial. Best investment we've ever made. Less than 5% of people return them after the trial period ends.

Yeah - we got a super king and it's so huge

When our baby came along I found that I would be very paranoid about rolling on it in the old bed which was a lot smaller.  As a result I slept all hunched up in a small space and it fucked my back up.   New bed helped sort my back out quickly.

I'm going to be in the market for a new bed soon but there's no way in the world I'm gonna part with over 2k for one. Is there a pov version for around a grand tops?

this is an excellent bed - with the only comment being that I would prefer not to have the mattress topper on if buying again to allow it to be flipped.  Kingsize mattress and Divan is 900, or the superking is 1050

Nice one that looks decent, ideally I need drawers underneath for storage. Those ones that flip up are really cool but I guess you pay a premium for that.

Great intel here people, really appreciated. The Tempur looks like the front horse here. Might be a stretch but my wife does take her kip seriously. She was looking at a hybrid mattress yesterday, the Simba
