Depending on who's playing along side him could decide whether it's worth a night out or not.

The dream would be to have a 98 end night

Better chance of it being good imo. Different crowd than 10k people festivals where he has to cheese it up. I'll wait until the guests are announced.

I would think it sells out before guests announced

With the right guests this could be epic. Never been to XOYO. Will there be room to move in there, or do they tend to oversell big events like this?

Spearhead @ Village Underground is on the same night too. Calibre, Bcee, Seba, Blu Mar Ten

Massively oversold nights I've been to there. Gets proper hot and the smoking area is a pain as well. I'm out.

Can't see him changing the style of music he's played for the past ten years to please a few blokes in their thirties at the bar when his name attracts the younger crowd. He might tease Renegade Snares or Babylon then go back to promoting whatever Rams latest 'summertime smasher' is.(I believe it's Wilkinson feat. Karen Harding..performed live last Friday on the new source of Ram dubplates Children in Need!)

Venue is decent I thought, given whats left in London these days. Suits more low key events I'd imagine. Like anywhere its going to be shit if its rammed and theres no space. I think the general consensus was Fabio & Bukem's thing there a few months ago was ok?

Venue is OK.... system is loud. The Bukem night was great.

I concur with Smolsky.... a 98 (- 2000) set would be tres bien.

That would be the set, maybe that one wouldnt sell as quick as many are in retirement now and the kids will want to hear the festival tracks

I've just tweeted the man himself asking if a late 90s End night could be possible to keep us old timers happy. Keeping everything crossed

Hard to see this not being the case tbh. Would love to be proved wrong.

Drum & bass is now like hip hop in that there is a definable golden era (mid 90s - mid 2000s). There's not much room now for innovation without deviating totally away from what made it what it was in the first place. Much like hip hop / rap, the mass transition to software based production has also completely changed how the music is made and sounds.
Try mixing some of the new style techy stuff with some old tunes and it doesn't even sound good together. Chalk and cheese.

Truth

I doubt he's gonna do an all 90s night. If he did, it'd be the greatest thing ever. He's still the best by a long long way IMO

Clayton/Backlash seems to be trying to corner this market now.

It's really shit how they pack in as many people as possible into these things nowadays. I go to a rave to dance not to stand back to front and front to back with the person behind and in front of me. Then it takes 45 minutes to get to the bar and back because you have to squeeze past everyone. I'd rather pay a few quid extra on my ticket if it meant they sold a few less and you could move about easier.

I'm taking a punt on the closing night, well aware I might be in for a disappointment.

States that it's over 21s as well, so if he's catering to 18 year olds, he's got his crowd wrong.

Yeah going for that one as well provided there's still some tickets left on Friday. Worth a go I reckon - if it's even half the set his first Fabric-allnighter was then I'd be bare happs fom.

SIGS, EVERYTHING SIGS.
