Feedback? My usual habit of flipping a sample in as many ways as possible within one track - have I over-egged it? I could probably make two or three separate beats, but I think it hangs together...

This is sick exactly how it is. Not really much feedback I know but I really wouldn't touch it

Listened to half of this but it was sick too..... I didn't like the track with the 303 though but other than that I thought it was class. Gonna try and listen to the other half in a bit

Echoing Dom, this is a sick mix. About ten minutes in an thoroughly enjoying it, has a 90s vibe

A couple of my DnB ones here... been meaning to put stuff up for a while but never find the time to get in the studio anymore.

I know my mixdowns need work but listening to the second one, it seems like Soundcloud has put some weird compression on it?

^^ Make the tunes downloadable so we can get the true 320 sound maybe?

I'll give these a listen when I get home later boss...

I know what you mean about time - I find that once you're on a roll the ideas just keep coming, you've got to somehow find the time to get on that roll, life tends to get in the way of course...

The sax (?) that come in at the beginning of Mad Lion reminds me of Live Libe - same sample? Not sure on the bassline tbh, little too over powering? Not sure.

I need to rework them at some point anyway so gonna leave them up... for now.

Gonna start setting time aside to dedicate to music...

I heard it on an NWA tune on Zaggin 4 Efil and I recreated it myself. Think it was One less Bitch... I forget where they sampled it from though.

Yeah, I think the bass is part of the way Soundcloud may have compressed it when I uploaded it? It does sounds different to the source file... other than that, any other feedback/ Criticism?

I dunno, it seems to overwhelm the other elements and the drums get a little lost. As you say though, it could be the soundcloud compression and the headphones I am using. I like the tune, has a decent (jump up) vibe to it; my only criticism would be is that it gets a little crowded after the 2:10 mark when a load of elements come in.

Nice - l like how the bass kind of steps up a gear after a minute or so - the bass is maybe a little naked before that? I like to maybe go in hard after a drop then maybe tail off after a while before breaking down and starting again.... Nice ol skool flavours in there mate.

Banged this out Sunday afternoon. Very pleased with it, but slightly concerned that it sounds a bit like Busta Rhymes Woo-ha. Unintentional if the bassline came out the same.

Thanks for the feedback... Being ultra nice to the missus at the moment and working up to asking her to let me have a few hours a week in the studio unhindered so will hopefully have some time on my hands to address some of those issues..

So anyway... I finished listening to your mix and I wasn't really feeling acid 0-303-18 or Lets go. I should probably say that I am not a fan of the Roland 303 sound anyway so that might be a main factor. It wasn't that they were "bad" tunes but they just didn't do it for me.. other than that, the only other slight criticism I have is that I thought some of the tunes needed a bit more in the way of some vocal samples in there... but that is if I was being hyper picky and it is a subjective thing anyway.

Overall, I thought it was brilliant though and the fact that I came back to the mix and finished listening to it is proof that it is quality. Big up...  Will keep an eye out for some more

Mate, thanks a bunch for this.. I agree with you, those two are probably the weakest links - I wanted to break up the '92 hardcore' vibe a little, get more stripped down and techno-ey... those two are as far from hardcore as the mix gets.

Getting quality feedback like this just makes me want to do more, nice one.

As for 'being ultra nice to the missus' - keep in mind the best things in life are free, hope you 'earn' more and more studio time somehow  Meanwhile I'll keep an eye out for your updates on here...

Me too, I used to like mixing the entries together afterwards... even though my entries were usually a pile of shit...

If we do another one, here's an early entry for a '1992 remix' comp from my new stuff - 'release - dance in eden - binar 2018 remix'...

We've got an atmospheric downtempo tune coming on an EP on Next Phase (Netherlands).

https://soundcloud.com/nextphaserecords/next-phase-radioshow-with-infest-14-03-2018#t=5:36

First downtempo thing we've done as a duo. I used to make average hip hop beats when I first started on Cubase over 10 years back but nothing on this level.

There's a sample of a field recording of ants eating sugar in there

Well. That is the skulls naps break in there. I wanted it rugged and loud, but Wheeler is a bit of a mix freak and wanted to reel it in a bit.

There's a bounce of it with just the untouched skull snaps in there. Probably sounds a bit too ruff for that type of tune tbh

The perils of non solo production! I edged it up a bit filthier (a bit of hard curve saturation) and that was the comprimise. Done and dusted now. Thanks for the words all!

I'll send a link for the other two tunes on that EP, both D&B tunes.
