Making intros is absolute perfection. Anything beyond that makes me quite sad. I'm hoping to team up with anyone that can turn thousands of intros into finished tracks. Safe.

Be quite to keen to get some feedback for this. Unlike most stuff that I struggle like fuck to finish (or, in most cases, fail to finish at all), this came together almost by itself in about 3 or 4 sessions over the last week.

Yeh making the intro is always my favourite part.

Sounds good, not what I expected. The drums are too clean though imo, needs more grit.

Back to dnb for me. My latest offering - https://soundcloud.com/sinai_uk/stutter

How are you still unsigned? I don't get it.

Loads of good offerings in here as usual, keep up the good work.

This is a revisit, no? I'm pretty sure I've heard this before, and even commented on it at the time, as it was a lot more 'conventional' in structure than the stuff you'd usually share...

A little solo remix I've been doing for a mate. The original was a deep house track, quite similar to Robin S - Show Me Love. I've turned it into some 130bpm cliche jungle fun. Just needs some finishing touches, an outro and mix.

I also thought this was VG+ ... cracking tune, just wanted it to 'hit a bit harder'. Not quite sure how you would achieve this tho, louder kick? heavier growly bass? more 'gritty' drums? Fuck knows. HTH

Edit: Just noticed that it's a 'pre-master', could all the stuff I talked about be sorted during mastering? (genuine question, as you may have guessed I don't produce)

I like this, those vocals are lovely, just needs more edits on the drums and your boy to mix it down.

Have you got a link to the original?

Yeah man, well remembered, I've been trying to get some bits from the last two years finished to a reasonable standard. I didn't recall posting it but I've just looked up the old thread and gone over your advice again. Thank you mate, always very helpful and it's much appreciated as ever.

Re: Production Thread (for old men) 2017/10/05 17:44:22 (permalink)
I've just checked propertys in my WIP folder and I have 1,123K unfinished tunes. That's purely tune's I feel have the slightest hint of potential. I bin untold amounts that i have to concede are going nowhere (Like the majority of the ones I keep no doubt but you know how it is)

Taking into account the fact that number excludes hundreds and hundreds of atmospheric ambient soundscape design sessions, purely drum pattern experimentation projects and simple sound design play, all of which get bounced and saved to my sample drive, that number is absolutely ridiculous and highlights just how incompetent I am when it comes to managing to finishing my music.

Going to try and get it as finished as possible this weekend.

So much good music in this thread. Great to see Ikos back too.

It was called jungle in those days, not drum and bass. That came later

Nah, it's not out yet. Just imagine a deep house tune with those vocals and the organ sample x10 more.

Only just spotted this, looking forward to giving it a rinse when I've got work out the way and I can turn it up. I'll drop some feedback for you later. Not that it carries much weight but any honest feedback is good feedback.

Serious. Just added this years bits in there so it's gone up a bit. 1,146 I've very little to show for all the time I put into them but the amount of happiness I get from producing is absolutely priceless.

16 years of producing = One official 4 track release on Repertoire, One self released 4 track and a tune played on Radio one. I really need to get my confidence back and try a lot harder and I might get somewhere.

Glad you like Ride In The Neon Sun, thanks

IKOS your stuff is different and intriguing, in a nice way. I wouldn't say I've found any of your tunes to be absolute killers (IMO) but I can see it coming. Defo talent there along with your graf.

Edit* keep it up mate
