Depends what you're after. Adam and Joe 6 music podcasts are good for the comedy. I would say the Ricky Gervais ones, but I have a feeling if I went back to them now I'd think they're a bit shit.

'Philosophy Bites' are great little 15 min podcasts on a different philosophical topic each week. Very good if you're into that kind of thing.

Obviously 'Guardian Football Weekly' is a must as well.

Joe Rogan is the one, plenty of interesting chat and guests, in the middle of the recent one from the MAP guy and good mushroom talk, also fancy trying a floatation tank after listening

Re: Podcasts 2016/04/14 12:14:01 (permalink)
Been listening to pods every days for years now. I will post them in the order I discovered them...

Comedy:

Russell Brand: 6Music - radio 2. Google search his podcast archive. Hysterical show that pushed boundaries and was extremely edgy.

Ricky Gervais: XFM - to his guardian series of pods. Ricky Gervais gets more and more annoying. Especially on repeat listens. Well worth enduring though because Karl and Steve are great.

Adam & Joe: XFM - 6Music - Adam Buxton podcast. My absolute favourite. These guys aren't the most competent radio hosts, nor are they the most naturally talented comedians. They know their limits and are not in anyway pretentious. They have charm in abundance and are family friendly.

RHLSTP: Only started these recently. Quality depends on the guest.

Football:

Football Weekly & The Ramble.

Occasionally listen to The Game but Marcotti is a cunt.

Movies:

Empire & Kermode. Both decent. I prefer watching Kermode on YouTube though. I find the Empire podcasts more appealing than the Kermode & Mayo ones. K & M can get quite long winded and Mark ends up reviewing loads of stuff you will never watch.

Other stuff:

Jo Rogan, Anything with Louis Theroux, Neil Degrasse Tyson is a dappa. Bill Burr is alright, I prefer just listening to clips of his podcasts on youtube (advice).

Would highly recommend the Hardcore History and Common Sense podcasts by Dan Carlin.

Joe Rogan is alright with the right guest.  I really can't spend 4 hours listening to him and one of his comedian pals jack each other off or him desperately try to justify hunting.

My mate recently put me onto this, it's funny but Bob Mortimer seems to hold back a lot.

The Blizzard is good if you like brilliantly written but monotonous recitals of long-form football writing.

Getting quite into Chapo Trap House recently too, very yank politics focused but can be hilarious b2b interesting at times.
