The Barcelona beer festival this year was fantastic - 360 beers from around the world. Iron Pig imperial Russian stout was amazing, another one whose name escapes me but tasted like drinking a cigar and bacon buttie, plus anything by Wee Heavy (the porters recommended). So many great ones.

Problem is, now traditional lager tastes even more like flavourless piss than before.

Just got back from Milwaukee / Chicago; craft beer scene there is ridiculous.

Had an 11% stout called "Dragons Milk", tasted nice but it was pretty much 3 for 1 per drink.

Lager called Supper Club by Capital Brewery was the shit. Gutted I wont be able to get 10% of them back in the UK now tho

Juice Springsteen and Clvb Tropicana are two of the best beers I've had recently.

Last time I was in Chicago I found some sports bar showing the NHL play-offs and they had the biggest selection of bottled craft beers I've ever seen.

Come to think of it, why don't we have proper sports bars? Going to watch football 'down the pub' is fucking shit. This place in Chicago had massive TV's on every single wall showing about 20 different games of football / hockey / baseball, etc. They served amazing food (massive plates of food) and as mentioned the beer selection was huge.

Sure beats popping down the shit local to watch the game on a 15 year old 30" CRT with fucking Fosters, Carling and dry roasted peanuts on offer.

Bedford Beer Festival this weekend. I will drink some highly bless beers, and some absolutely revolting ones.

Like a good beer festival but hard to not be put off by occasional choices tasting like drains b2b washing up water and having to mingle with fat hairy guys who smell like they've not washed for days b2b farts.
