How do they calculate the £30k anyway? Do they use the exchange rate at time of claim, or the exchange rate at the time they review the claim? Because a lot more people will fulfil that criteria post the Brexit £ weakening!

Why would there be an exchange? They’d be offered the contract in pounds sterling.

Fucking lol.  Brendan "Spiked/Living Marxism" O Niell.

From Revolutionary Communist Party to Goodone re-posts it's been a hell of a strange journey.

The wierd things about the Spiked/Furredi sect is how they all travelled it en masse at the same time.

lol you can be 'left wing' and also believe in liberal values. Left wingers have been abandoning political correctness in droves for the very reason that it's anti liberal, so it shouldn't really come as a surprise... they probably resent being labelled as unsophisticated racists for daring to question the sacred ideology of multiculturalism.

I understood that he calls himself a marxist with tongue in cheek, in the sense that the communist manifesto spends the first few pages bigging up capitalism

Neither middle class or a student, but good on you for getting Communist right for once.
Normally it's two out of three ain't bad but I suppose in your case you have to be happy with the odd one.

I'm not even sure she is a communist. No one with a shred of knowledge of the totalitarian regimes of the 20th centurary would broadcast such ignorance on live television

The USSR follow Marxism-Leninism and China Maoism. Saying Communism is bad is like decrying socialism because that's what Nazi Germany had. You should actually study Marxism at least to 'know your enemy' if you think it's that bad. I actually wrote an analysis of the Communist Manifesto for my master's (and got a distinction for it so I'm pretty confident I know what I'm on about)... it's basically the workers are going to revolt and their own back on the bourgeoisie for being such twats to them, which is nothing controversial when you remember that's what the serfs did to the monarchy a few centuries before.

Exactly, but I suspect Goodone claims to be some kind of anarcho-capitalist instead

I'm not sure I think that calling for a violent revolution is 'nothing controversial' however I can understand why you might think that it's a worthwhile cause. Except how did it work out? It turned out to be the most murderous and evil doctrine in the history of the world, wherever it was implemented. To say that it was a case of countries failing to implement proper Marxism is quite a troubling statement for someone who is supposed to have studied it at one of our universities... Body count and human suffering aside, how many of Marx's predictions actually came true?

The interpretation is the uncontroversial bit. Also 'controversial' is a value judgement, the Communists certainly didn't think that. As it happens though in my analysis of the text there did appear to be some prediction by the Communists that the proles may have thought that and sought to assuage this by arguing it was just. What predictions are you talking about anyway? You do realise what 'manifesto' means? References please! From the actual texts too, look here's an online repository with lots of texts free for you to actually read: https://www.marxists.org/archive/marx/index.htm

Dianne Abbott really does come across as unspeakably thick. She speaks so slowly that it’s hard for her to ever hit home with a point. I’m surprised Labour send her out there to communicate their message.

She can’t actually be stupid because she has an Oxbridge degree but my god she sounds it. Painful to listen to.

Andrew Neil is absolutely slewing anyone unfortunate enough to be interviewed by him at the moment, leave or remain, Labour or Tory. I think he voted Brexit but he’s just annihilating anyone. It’s a rare art these days.

tbf there's very low hanging fruit on both sides of the house. erg breshitter rhetoric doesn't stand up to any form of scrutiny. neither does labour's balancing act. whole thing is a farce.

He’s making hay like no one else though. This is why I’ve always rated Neil. I’m sure he’s biased like everyone is but he will turn his guns on anyone and you wouldn’t even know his position here.

Don imo.

It's a shame politics doesn't seem to attract the best people for the job. We'd be much better off without the self interested corporate puppets it does attract.
