I meant walt (sleep deprivation has fucked my mind). might not have been him, but i'm pretty sure it was his shitty old car that gave jimmy a honk at the lights, slightly blurred in the background.

could be completely wrong

It was.

Pretty sure Hank wasn't in it, nowhere else mentions it?

He has been filming though

Possibly the best episode of the season, the showdown with Chuck, Jimmy and Kim was awesome.

AGH. Need to watch it but working away and not sure putting it on my fucking laptop is going to do it justice. Going to have to try and hold out until I get home tomorrow and can get lean in front of the proper TV with the headphones.

But I wanna seeeeeeee itttttttt.

Wonder what Mike's gonna do now his plan was foiled.

I hope chuck is OK as there's more mileage in that feud.

Indcrunkle episode.

My auto correct just changed 'incredible' to 'Indcrunkle'.

I had to watch the scene with Nacho and Mike again, more specifically watching Mike register his fuck up... first the professional "I should have planned for that" reaction, then after he gets in the car the human reaction, the "what have I done"- all pulled off with a few moves of the creases on his big bald noggin...

I look forward to the moment where Mike says "Fuck it" and starts slaying cartel members. It's great that we get to see his journey from "never pulling the trigger" to cold blooded hit man.

Chuck is a great character. Could be the last of him.

Kim dealing it to Chuck was satisfying.

Also enjoyed the way Jimmy got out of bed wordlessly, that shit seemed so familiar- a bit like a high stakes version of "did you put the bins out"

Decent finale, but at the same time, exceptionally frustrating that the season is over already and there's going to be a huge wait until the next episode as it really doesn't feel like that much has happened

I'm lapping it up still though, great viewing.

Its great but up until the last few episodes its been too slow paced imo

btw someone worked out an anagram of the first letters in each ep spells Frings Back so I imagine this is what season 3's gonna be about, Mike meeting Frings and fighting Hector

Why wasn't Fring back in this series then (unless he was the one who left the note on Fring's car)?

Re: Better Call Saul 2016/04/20 08:35:08 (permalink)
Funny sort of feeling at the end of last night's episode- had a feeling it wouldn't be left all nice tied up with a ribbon of course but it was uncomfortable, all the way through. Clever, but a bit painful.

Mike's intense sniper thing was the best, to flip it round at the end and realise he was being scoped was nice, as was the Chuck-on-a-gurney/in-the CATscanner first person shit.

I probably appreciated the episode more after a night's sleep.

Predictions- as we know, Jimmy isn't de-barred from the law in BB, perhaps Chuck doesn't go nuclear and just uses the tape to assert control over Jimmy rather than grass him (which is kind of in keeping with the McGill bros- restricted warfare- and it's always been about asserting primacy with Chuck), or maybe he does or maybe he doesn't, but Jimmy is lucky to have a sympathetic quack at his beck and call prepared to section his brother at the tip of a hat. Can't help thinking this is a bit of a Chekov's gun

Maybe he does something that fucks him over hence why he becomes Saul. He almost certainly ruins Kim in the process. I think in many ways Chuck has less of a conscience than Jimmy, certainly around people he's supposed to care about.

He's so wrapped up in his own personal issues he has no room for empathy

His rigid obsession with the letter of the law and not the spirit is practically autistic. He'll do bad and immoral things provided they're legal.

You can also see both with his missus and this mother that it kills him that they like Jimmy more because Chuck (likely using law as a his metric) thinks he's the better person.
