I like quorn but the mince can do one. Texture feels weird. Quorn cocktail sausages and dippers though... Decent snack.

Mince is the best thing they do imo. I do a Quorn bolognese and Quorn tacos about once a week.

This.

I'd actually consider getting a second number for recruiters or estate agents so I can long them off once I don't need them.

This Iceland ad being banned for being ‘too political’. I’m no tree hugger but as someone who has been to Borneo and witnessed the vast deforestation first hand, it really rankles that a shitty decision like this could stifle debate on palm oils.

We travelled for hours by car through what used to be dense jungle, now palm plantations as far as the eye can see. The scale of it all is truely staggering and really depressing. It isn’t just Orangutan that lose out either.

It was a Greenpeace video so they obviously submitted it knowing it was going to be banned and that it would subsequently go viral.

Nice peace of marketing and to be fair Iceland are actually do seem to be taking more action than others on environmental issues. https://www.theguardian.com/business/2018/jan/15/iceland-vows-to-eliminate-plastic-on-all-own-branded-products

Anything that knocks the wind out of the sails of christmas adverts (like the john lewis christmas advert) is alright by me.

It's also really bleak that environmentalism is considered a bit much at a time of year when every advert is encouraging people to consume well beyond their needs and means and rack up a load of borderline unsustainable debt.

I see that orangutan video last night,  deep and pretty grim and a complete joke that they pulled it for 'political reasons'....... The petition was at 280,000 a few hours ago when i signed it, it's now at 435,000

Richard Walker has taken over as MD of Iceland since the summer (I think his Dad is the Chief Exec) and he seems keen to rid the brand of its "cheap frozen shit" shackles of the past. Fair play to him. They've also pledged to be plastic free on all their own brand stuff by 2023.
He was on Question Time recently.

6am flight to Amsterdam means I need to leave home at 2.30am and I'm in bed and not the slightest bit tired or ready to sleep. I'm also horribly sober because need to drive soon. Fuck.

I probably wouldn't bother going to bed for that. I usually stay up for 5-6am flights if it's not a work thing.

It's a work thing, unfortunately. Out there for a week for an exhibition. Will have time to get on it in the evenings but it's long days do probably won't get too fucked up.

I could defo stay up but would rather get a little snooze in before the drive. Do prang a bit about my phone dying / alarm not going off and missing the flight lol.

I could be wrong but I think the whole concept has been a marketing ploy.

Thr advert was vetted by some marketing company called Clearcast, not an actual regulator. So it hasn't actually been banned as they have no power to ban anything. I think Clearcast are working with Iceland in a bid to make it go viral and it has worked incredibly well so fair play to them. YouTube are showing it as a part of their adverts already.

2 hours sleep and I've arrived.

Drifted off on the plane and when the plane landed it jolted me out of my sleep and because my brain couldn't process quickly enough that we'd landed I thought it was turbulence and damn near shit my pants. For a split second I thought we were doomed hah.

Also the toilet paper in Schipol is so violent it feels like rubbing an angry cactus on my bumhole.

My colleagues flight is delayed by 90 minutes so only option left is to find a gin & tonic to sooth myself.

How often I really miss being young, getting on pills going raving, ending up at some randoms house with a load of people etc. Nothing can compete with the highs experienced doing that and trying to replicate it just makes me feel sick and too old for it. Even my raving renaissance about 5-7 years ago is starting to feel like a distant memory. I don't feel depressed about it or anything but it gives me a melancholy feeling knowing how everything is a bit dull in comparison and you can never recapture those highs. I think being too old for all that makes me feel older than I am as I used to live for all that. Hearing certain tunes or sets brings it all back.

Never too old imo. I still love a good rave.

The days of going raving 3,4 times a week and coming up on pills in Fabric Room 1 to Andy C as a 16 year old, or even pills at all are now long behind me.

I've been to a few things this year but it just doesn't feel the same and each time I've been really sick the next week which has put me off now, I don't think I fancy a sober rave, I tried doing that years ago and wasn't feeling it. Also I carry around the feeling of being too old for it when I see people almost half my age everywhere.

Couple of drinks is all I need these days can't be doing pills no more. Don't miss them either tbh, still have a great time. Main concern is that it takes me all week to catch up on my sleep. Only get out maybe 4 or 5 times a year though.

I do get a little wistful when a hot young lady is in the vicinity and I realise that I'm probably at least 17 years older than her and therefore old enough to be her dad. That's only gonna get worse.

Plus I'm never down the front or even in the middle of the dancefloor anymore. Dark corners is me.

Although i missed the 'heyday' of the 90's, the time i was raving, i.e 2000-2004 just seemed a lot better.

Everything i see now just looks like posing....  fucking mosh-pits....  no atmosphere, horns, whistles.

Perhaps it's an age thing, but when i was going you would actually see some proper 'characters'. Not really feeling daytime raves either.

This is coming from someone who's never been into drugs though, so probably at odds with everyone else on the forum...!

While I also miss the raving and pilling up for 3-4 days and feeling superb at the end of it. There’s still loads of highs to be had. Seeing the world, festivals, shovel, etc

The smaller events and crowd like Sun and Bass still keep be fairly “young”

I for one am glad for the lack of whistles and horns. Only thing more jarring is shirtless idiot MCing in your ear.

Dark corners are the one, always have been for me.

I strongly agree with Pat's points TBH.

I've got access to a box for Andy C at Wembley, and if it wasn't for the fact I can only have one guest, it would be fucking sick. Arm chairs, canapes and Massive teased over everything.

I'm finally starting to feel content with letting go of my youth. It's something for the past couple of years I've been trying to hold onto.
It's only recently I've been able to have a couple of cool craft sippys and call it a night. I have always been all-or-nothing
