Getting my first bit of new ink for years soon.  First one I've pretty much designed myself and it'll be my only one with any meaning.  I honestly don't care what anyone thinks about this one really as it's all about me.

Reasoning is I first saw Radiohead  at Glasto in 2003, and that was the first weekend I did class As.  From then on I was a different person, I've had some great times since.  I saw them again this year, and again they had the whole field singing to those Karma Police lyrics.  It does help I've been a massive fan of them throughout my various changing musical tastes.

Well I'm married and don't go clubbing anymore, gonna be trying to start a family soon.  It just feels really appropriate to have something bracket those years just like those two gigs...

Getting it done by a mate.  It's not his normal style but I trust him when he says he reckons he can make a good job of it.  https://www.facebook.com/gleadlesneedles/

He's fully booked in Melbourne til November 2018 and rarely answers his emails. Apparently gonna be in the Gold Coast at some point which is a bit north of me, so might be able to grab an appointment...but I really don't want something out of a catalogue, want something slightly custom.

None of these artists in this thread would do anything from a catalogue I imagine. They will ask what you want, add in their two pence and you request any changes via email usually

Everything come's in cycles, same has been said about Tribal and Japanese e.t.c
I've always been a fan of trad and see it as timeless myself.

I can appreciate the quality of some of the work, i suppose its more the fact i just associate it with beardy hipster wankers as they have totally bastardised that style.

yeah i think traditional will always have a place... but i do agree, walk around dalston these days and everyone's covered in about the same dozen or so pieces. that's more about the wearers' lack of imagination than the artists' or the style itself though i'd say

i think the gold coast ones, and other international bits are walk ins tho (I see them posted on instagram)...so assume it's at least from some previous. That's why I'm trying to get an appointment but probably gonna have to wait a year. Which is fine really

Obviously as the Archbishop of Banterbury I'm a hillarious guy, my mrs has an R on her Right wrist (her initial), so I got Left on my Left wrist. A tattoo for my other half because she's always right.

Yeah after the ship I couldn't wear my watch anyway so got my wrist filled in so that they can heal together and I can get my watch back on.

I don't personally but I'd imagine its a story of sunblock e.t.c to keep the colours vibrant.
Wouldn't say any of mine have faded to annoying degree but I'm a pale guy with an office job haha

I like trad stuff where the artist puts their own style into it and you can tell it's one of theirs

Valerie Vargas is obviously one of the best at this.

I nearly booked in with him but after much consideration I decided that he draws better than he tattoos and he comes across as a bit of a dick on his instagram which also put me off.

I would die happy if I could get one more, from Winston The Whale. Love his stuff but it's impossible to get a booking, even if you went all the way to Portland
