Just finished first season of Atlanta. A high 6 out of 10

A high 6, really?

Second season is better though I think but I loved the first season.  8/10 shit for me.

I kept on really getting into it, and then it would just sort of wander along at a slow pace. Is it worth carrying on with?

Finally finished The Punisher. Do not like.

Longed it out for no reason. This is the bottom of the Marvel pile imho. Yet IMDB ratings say 8.7.

Never seen an imdb rating of more than 8.2 that was shit.

IMDb seems misleading for TV, I'm not sure why though. A lot of really average American shows and comic book TV shows with >8.0 rating scores. Generic stuff like Supernatural, Vikings, American Horror Story and Suits are all mid to high 8 scores.

Movies it's generally a decent guide after a few months once the PR machines ease off, most movies settle into a score around the 6 or 7 range, 8.0 and above are usually critically acclaimed and/or widely successful.

Anyone started Final Space on Netflix?

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt6317068/

Decent rating on IMDB. I'm two episodes in an pretty unsure. It looks and sounds great, but some of the jokes are pretty shit and the main character "Gary" is so fucking annoying and hammed up to the max.

Just watching it purely to fill a Rick & Morty shaped hole tbh.

It apparently gets better every episode so I might just stick with it. Not optimistic though.

Watched the trailer and thought it looked cack. Like what it obviously is - an R+M cash in.

That does sound like a shameless cash in lol.

If you want an animated show to watch on Netflix then watch F Is For Family, its great

Been watching Last Chance U on Netflix. It’s surprisingly good. Basically a real life version of Friday Night Lights but without the hot women.

They even have subtitles half the time so you can understand the Mississippi drawl.

Started watching Succession last night. Heard that it starts a bit slow and gets better but I really enjoyed episode 1 so looks like I'm in for a treat.

Surprised there are that many Last Chance U fans!

Running back Isaiah Wright, who backed up Law in 2015 and saw his 2016 campaign hampered by injuries and fumble issues, signed with West Georgia but left the school in the spring of 2017. Last September, he was arrested and charged for criminal homicide in a stabbing death in Tennessee along with his older brother Camion Patrick and two other men. The charges were dropped against Patrick, while Wright continues to await trial.

There's a "Where are they now?" episode that appears on Neflix when you get to the end of S3.

They are mostly very damaged individuals, exploited for their athletic prowess by a system that clearly doesn't give a shit about them. That's the most interesting part of the whole thing.

Edit - Also Sy, you know how I feel about the photography of smalltown America and the way this is shot is absolutely beautiful.

It’s amazing how unintelligent some of them are. Not knowing how to use plurals etc. But have the chance to go to a reasonable college. Pretty harsh that their entire life hinges on a one in a million shot.

Would love to go and take photos there but it’s not an attractive holiday proposition for the gf 😬

Haven’t got this far yet. Only mid way through season 2.

I’m just surprised how they have all the will in the world to smash their heads into people and run through brick walls, but can’t find the will to show up to class. That seems like the easy bit of the deal tbh

I’ve been bingeing on the new Orange is the new black as a guilty pleasure. Kept questioning what I’m doing with my life

Then they add in Portishead - Machine Gun during a key scene late on. Fucking gravy baby. Loving it now

Just finished season 1 of Finnish crime drama bordertown on Netflix. Starts good, but eventually descends into silliness and becomes very average.
