i got all mine in a box and one of them old fold out plastic crates you'd keep your toys in as a kid

No doubt i would have invested in one of these if i had continued my vinyl buying addiction

lol I had to spend a lot more than £55. I bought two 4 box ones, a 6 box one and a 12 box one and I've still got records on the floor.

I need to get rid of some tbh.

yeah, i need another 8 box one. still got a cellar full of vinyl. I was hoping to clear the cellar so i can start work on it but just seemed to clear a small bit of floor space.
My cousin is a well established discogs seller so i just give stuff to him. I wanna clear all the shit i dont absolutely love.

Sauce is only 4ft tall. That set up is already a bit high for him IMO.

This. It's just long going through and grading stuff to sell etc. A lot of the time if the tune is worth about £1 it's not worth the time it actually takes to check it for pops/grade it.

I only have the 8 box one, i put some brackets up above it about 6" above, and mounted a work top on the wall as it wasn't quite tall enough to put the decks on or width wise for my lappy/traktor/monitors etc

Its not as bad as it sounds, either way i couldn't work with the space available on top of the 8 box and wanted to store my records under the decks

This is how mine looks

I have added custom stoppers to the back of each shelf as well so the vinyl doesn't fall too far back and is easier to reach/see

This was how it was before I added these (during preparing for a set)

Had the 5x5 one when I lived with the old dears, thing was huge and held 5000 tunes, left it there when I moved out.
Thinking I could do with 1 in the lounge.
Might go and get lost in ikea tomorrow.

I would love to start collecting vinyl but i reckon it would take over my room then my house.

I like the idea of just collecting mint copy's of my favorite old tunes rather than a full on collection.

You can usually pick up Shake Ur Body remix for about 50p on ebay.

yes but after discogs/ebay/paypal have taken their cut it's less than 50p and I for one am not that desperate enough for cash that I could be bothered with the walk down the post office and the inevitable queue when you get there.

I've got 2 of those expedit 8 boxes and 3 big plastic crates and still loads left over on the floor afterwards, I only buy about a record a month nowadays though, if I still had a pair of decks I'd probably still be buying loads.

My collection is still very much quality over quantity. I've got about 300 pieces and 90% is the cream of the crop.

But even though my collection is condensed, buying job lots of records on ebay is very tempting at the moment. I saw some ex-dmc champions collection on there recently. 900 jazz, funk & hip-hop records and skimming the listing it looked like it was nearly all dope shit. £2600 though.

Even though that's a bit overpriced, most job lots work out to about £1 a record. As long as you're careful and check the listings properly, it really is the time to invest if you've always wanted a large collection.

It's pretty much all D&B unfortunately. I do have some Isaac Hayes records but I'll be hanging on to those

i have one of those shown in the OP, but its not on its side and it doesnt have my decks on it.
it stores most of my vinyl tho. I'd like more but its not a massive priority. i still buy the odd piece but not enough to worry about storage solutions.

altho, this i find interesting...
