What did she expect when making her situation known to anonymous people on the internet? Also: quote:
I am even prepared to go and sit outside David Cameron’s house and scream and shout until something is done about websites like this.'

The people who set up these kind of pages, do it just to attract this type of person. They are pathetic individuals but you cant engage them. Its hard for Facebook as it isnt illegal and once you start taking one thing down.. Facebook are cunts though anyway, I hasten to add

Looks like the thought police are getting to grips with social media. There is loads of outrageous shit out there on the internet - most of it is just people talking bollocks and letting off steam. They thrive on the oxygen of publicity.

The people that create and contribute to these groups are obviously idiots, but she's shot herself in foot a bit. Don't feed the trolls etc But let's not forget the dead baby pics that circulated on this place, which SOME members didn't seem to have too much of a problem with, as well as the numerous dead baby/rape jokes ( ) So don't all climb aboard your high horses just yet.

Facebook is bullshit and some people need shooting. To be honest though people need to learn to keep personal lives personal. But these cunts need naming and shaming. Theyve got parents etc and I doubt they'd want them knowing what they get up to online. In my day people bought a fast car if they had a small dick, now they just do stuff like this.

Some of the Mail comments are actually unsually spot on quote:
I never understand why people on Facebook decide to air their private business over it. What response did she expect to get from such disgusting page? And why go looking for it in the first place? You dont just "stumble" across such pages, i never have! quote:
The answer is quite clear - and simple - do not use Facebook to reveal intimate details of your life. Why any sane person would want to do that is beyond me. You will not find any real friends in cyber space. quote:
The trolls didn't find her - she went to them. She found their page, and wrote on their wall. Nobody "subjected" her to anything. quote:
She stuck her head in a wasps nest and then complains when she gets stungI dont understand any of this. I lost a baby through miscarriage and it was intensely painful. But it was a pain that only my husband had any right to share.I know it was pre-Facebook, but for heavens sake, because Facebook is there does not mean you have to a. write everything on it and b read anything on it. The trolls are sick, so why pander to them by reading and commenting. Just leave them in their own little cesspit and they will get bored. I am sorry about your baby, but the rest of it, you brought on yourself.

I have some bint on my facebook who does absolutely nothing with her life but update facebook every 5 minutes telling us all about her unborn child. She found out about this page and writ something on the wall and proceeded to get ripped apart by about 15 lads for 6 hours straight, even a good friend's brother of hers was hurling abuse at her. She then made a group to get it removed and claimed they had hacked into the group? quote:
if i added you to the group to get the dead baby jokes page removed could you take your selves off it as they've hacked into it the sickos! thanks x

It really stinks how in the last year people are getting charged for sending "malicious communications" and the media have started giving coverage to the issue of trolling as if people shouldn't expect any degree of abuse when posting on the internet. Clearly the establishment are trying to take control of what been out of there hands for so long, cleverly using celebrities/twitter to try and make high profile examples of what will happen if you dare to upset someone and to get the general public on board If you get upset by words on a screen get the fuck off the internet

As with everything online nowadays there's the inevitable sensationalism that sorta detracts from 'the point' and over-generalises people's attitudes, but again: there's a difference between just going about your daily life and riding in, white-knight style, on some kind of moral crusade against online baddies.

That's like saying because some people get mugged on the bus you can't complain if you get punched in the face on your way to work.

That's like saying because some people get mugged on the bus you can't complain if you get punched in the face on your way to work. Early days of internet = chat rooms. Full of abuse. Then forums gained popularity. Full of abuse. Then extremely popular sites such as youtube & facebook were created. The former being an archive for all types of sick humour and insults. Facebook is a tool where people can argue and send threats to each other from the safety of their bedrooms. Abuse, sick humour and 'trolling' are all huge aspects of the internet and they always have been. Anonymity was a key part of keeping stories out of the media. Now everything links back to a facebook/social networking site and people can be outed. This means that actions need to be taken to protect people. Although I personally think that the people who are posting on the dead baby page are just fuelling the 'trolls' bonfire, there really is no place for pages like that on facebook. I'm amazed it's still up.

I've had more abusive moments then most on here, but saying its an outrage to be pulled up on it for abusing someone is a joke. If you walked upto someone in the street and called them a cunt, it's an offence. How is it any different online?

However if you do what this woman did and actively seek something out which offends her, then posts something adverse which puts her in the firing line and then gets offended by the response, I have fuck all sympathy tbh The great thing with the internet is you can generally choose to avoid things you don't like or don't agree with.

The great thing with the internet is you can generally choose to avoid things you don't like or don't agree with. It's a bit different with something like Facebook compared to a forum or chat room. A Facebook group you can join and leave as you wish. With a forum you can post one thing and have no control over who else posts, the closest thing to a unfriend option is to block (easier to block people offline), to anyone else you're guilty by association.
