Jeez, but he's not a diver just being a bit of a cunt in it's space. Bit of respect is needed when dealing with something as unpredictable as a Bull Shark, not shoving your bare leg in it's space. Asking for it imo I've never heard of a diver being attacked, not saying it hasn't happened but the amount of dives to shark attacks wouldn't even be worth mentioning

9/10 times a great white shark attack is just a case of mis identity. From below, great whites look up and see a human silhouette representative of a seal/prey. Combine with swimming actions/water thrashing... if a Great White is underneath you... you're fucked.. even more so if you're on a surf / body board! The initial attack bite (often fatal) confirms this mistake to the shark and it fucks off. Pretty shit way to die.. as a mistake! I rate a great white attack as one of the most horrific ways that you can die Check out great whites breaching, its fucking immense. Chris Fallon is the guy.... I got his great white shark book the other year and it is unreal. When I go back to South Africa, i'm going on one of his shark breaching tours at seal island... 100%!

There is another theory though about Great White attacks.... When they attack a seal, they often take a bite and leave the seal to bleed out and then go and eat it as it is less hassle that way. Maybe they are doing that to humans too... there are definately rogues that will eat humans and there have been attacks where the shark has come back and bitten multiple times which means it isn't an exploratory bite.

Yeah I agree mate... either way just thinking about it gives me the shivers! To a shark I guess we are too boney compared to a blubber fest seal... Id LOVE to dip one of those 'fattest in the world' fuckers in the drink around seal island and see how great whites get on with one of them! Have you seen how whites congregate round a whale carcass and feast.. would make epic TV! I guess anything laying limp in the sea, bleeding out is gonna attract more of the fuckers if not just the original one back to the scene... Fuck, imagine getting a limb chomped off.. or a chunk removed... blood pissing out and you're trying to get to shore/boat not knowing if at any minute the fucker is gonna just pop up and have another go!

Sharks have incredible taste sensors that can work out in less than a second when they bite you whether or not you're worth killing. Based on the bite they can see if you have enough body fat/energy for it to be worth their while in carrying out the attack. They can only investigate stuff with their mouths/nose.

The 'Pacific' BBC series was excellent. They did a piece on baby albatross's that are learning to fly and the tiger sharks that come to feed during this period. It was odd how the sharks arrived on the very same day the first babies were attempting it. Considering the sharks have to go out of their way to get to the place their timing was sinisterly accurate. Can't find the actual clip but this will do. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DjE-wAc7HUk

There is a National Geographic called "Ultimate Shark" that you can get on itunes where they dissect one too. It is amazing. There is more on todays attack here and this Great White is definately a rogue. http://uk.news.yahoo.com/australia-surfer-killed-shark-050137824.html @ Majik - Been into sharks long before Jezza was on our screens! He needs to come with a next series soon tho....

SharkWater http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ggtxA4wuXzY This is quite a heartbreaking documentary, about shark finning. Sharks are important to this planet and humans are killing them simply for a delicacy

Totally! You wouldnt walk out and about in the Masai Mara where Lions etc hunt / roam would you. Same applies to White Shark rich areas of ocean. If you're on a board or in a kayak... you stand absolutely no chance in hell against this From 1 min on... check it out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Z_sCULV-QQ another similar http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xx1KXGrGooA

Sharks are amazing. My views are very similar to Dominos. Swam with some baby sharks (think they were reef sharks) in Hawaii, i do mean babies, they were tiny, still pretty amazing to see. Surfers know the risks, all my surfer friends who go to aus know the risks but it never stops them. Saw a Basking shark in Cornwall this year too, it was absolutely MASSIVE. They are completely harmless though but still didn't stop people panicking. I remember reading something that said you have a 1 in 12 million chance of being attacked.. people need to chill out when it comes to (most) sharks.

I love sharks. Swam with some reef sharks when I was diving in Oz but not majorly exciting as they don't really tend to bite people much. When I was snorkelling in Egypt I saw the tail of a tiger shark. The guy leading the group was freaking out telling us to get back on the boat but we didn't realise what it was until after. Wish it had eaten a couple of the miserable bitches I went on holiday with.
