Try another sub which is easiest. Or you could overdrive/saturate the one you have on another track in parallel and do all sorts of stuff to that -while still having a clean copy. Maybe even resample at a higher octave and drive that on top of it all. Watch the volume increase.
Fucking hate this, it's alright if i remember to write in a key that i know sub sits well in but sometimes i forget/just need to write it in a differemnt key
FTR i love the fact you're posting here again you fucking massive filthy defector. Its about time.
To be honest, i was never really into production when i was writing drum & bass, i only posted on here in the hope that someone would post a hidden link to meatspin that i could pretend to be rumbled by.
Since i've started writing 100bpm shit though i've become a load more interested in properly learning production instead of just slinging samples together.
I'd also just like to state that Ableton is the absolute bad boy when you learn it, nothing else ive used comes close to it for speed/creativity.

You'll fit in, nobody really produces dnb here any more
For the longest time i would've argued with you, but ableton has all the wicked features that Reason has without the gheyness so........i agree with you.
When you say the track is in C do you mean every note in it fits the C major scale? Or are all the sub notes literally C?
I know this seems like a shit question... But gotta ask so my suggestion doesn't seem like total spasticity.
If all the sub notes are C try an E instead, it's in the the same scale and is a third so may work better without sounding horrendous.
If the bassline is various notes and it's only the odd C that doesn't pack a punch then leave it. Sometimes it works better when some notes hit hard and others don't.
Or just use a different synth patch for the sub.
