Headlock is alright, but the other tunes of his I heard are really poor, generic, basic and substandard. Just cannot see how this is RAM quality. Him and Delta Heavy have really slipped through the net as far as I can see.
I wouldn't group Rene LaVice with Delta Heavy tbh, Headlock was really good, his tunes with Gremlinz are wicked, his tunes on Machinist are decent and I don't really like his EP on RAM, but having to follow Headlock is no easy feat. That EP he did is probably better than your usual RAM release as well. He's fairly new to most of it as well, give him time to better himself.
I can't remember who told me so can't attest to the reliability of the source, but I swear someone said those man were gonna dead Frequency and start some new imprint as Frequency doesn't have enough of a link with Ram in the public's eyes. Once again, that could be complete B.S. but it's easier for me to make a disclaimer than actually go find out (seeing as it may not even be relevant), hehe.

there isnt a single tune on the new EP I would'nt bang out in the car. best RAM release in ages. that remix - if I didnt know it were a remix - would be decent as a standalone tune. the original is ok but a bit boring to me. but there you go. people don't really know what they are talking about. listen to the low ends in the tunes. are you mad.
can't please everyone all the time. in dnb, youre lucky if you please a tiny sliver of people in fact. fickle scene. if you want old ram, listen to old ram; there's nothing stopping you. (what ... do you want them to re-release their back catalog on loop?) stupid airheads
anyone would think you was player-haters. bitter too. tut. but there you go. that's democracy for you. knobs.
you need to understand youre listening to digital music - not cassette tapes. these tunes with distortion would match the old ram stuff. youre not using your ears properly. it's like you need to be taught how to listen 2bass
