It's been manipulated and is still being manipulated. Tethers now being investigated by the sec, as soon as they find that they're not backed by real money and the liquidity in Bitcoin is not actually there at all, the arse will completely drop out of this.

Could be, could be it goes further.  I certainly don't know what's gonna happen and neither did you when you sold all your coin (at a tidy profit fair enough, but much smaller than now) ages ago.

I actually feel like I got out at the right time regardless of the price rise. Staying in longer would just be more stress, and it would inevitably have been lost or stolen in some scam. Or simply not possible to cash out. I think it's funny people talking about the money they've made when they can't cash out or spend it because it's so fucked. The whole things a toxic mess and I'll be glad when it dies.

The annual tax-free allowance for an individual’s asset gains is £11,300 for 2017/18. So if the profit from selling your cryptocurrency, in addition to any other asset gains, is less than this, you won’t have to report or pay tax on it.

for married individuals: you can gift up to £11,300 of assets to your spouse, and use their Capital Gains Tax allowance, thereby getting up to £22,600 of capital gains tax free annually.

Anyone looked at a crypto called Nano?

It seems to be like Bitcoin without the fees and easier to use. A geek at work who made a load out of Bitcoin was saying it’s well worth a punt, works out as a tenner a coin at the moment.

Was thinking of getting 100 and seeing what happens.

I wouldn't bother. Look at the price of it in early December, 20 cents a coin. If you put a few grand in then you'd be rich, buying now is just buying into people that have become rich and want to sell. It's just another shit coin that some bloke came up with and shilled it and is now laughing while sitting on a huge stack of money. It doesn't matter if it's zero fee and easier to use, what are you gonna use it for?

Only useful coins are Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash and Monero for darknet markets, none of which are worth an investment at this point, just useful as a day to day coin. No cunt on Dream Markets is gonna take Nano any time soon.

I was close to taking a punt on a grunt with some of the other lesser known coins 3 months a go. Luckily the amount of faff to buy put me off as they've all subsequently turned to shit.

My housemate bought a load of ETH at $1400, it now sits around $400. That's a couple grand down the drain, but he's holding.

Thanks for steering me off these. Now trading at $4 a coin.
