1st - 6 - Just nice raw jungle, uplifting but deep, not overworked which I think some of the others were.

2nd - 5 - Heavy production, deep as fu@k, just got a vibe about it.

3rd - 1 - Just fucking ruff, breaks are too much, Reinforced in the house.

Nice selection!

3 POINTS - Track 9 - It just has to be! Intro skank out with a lovely drop. Sick.

2 POINTS - Track 4 - It was the switch up at 1:55 that did it for me :)!

1 POINT - Track 12 - Fun track!

Good work all round though, amazing to hear some fresh stonkers.

Really great response to the tracks, almost 1,000 plays on Souncloud in less than 2 days is pretty impressive!

Thank you to everyone who has posted and listened so far

3 points - Track 5

2 points - Track 9

1 point - Track 14

I loved track 5. Some parts of it are too up to date for this comp, especially the second part. But for that intro and drums alone, it's gotta take the top spot for me. In my opinion, the bass should have been left unfiltered and raw, but that's just me.

Track 9 is a winner really. I can't fault it on anything other than it's originality.

1st: Track 6 - A well deserved winner, how jungle should be in my opinion...cant really fault it. Also like the length of it, the amen is a nice surprise after the minutes of GLR style jungle before it. good stuff!

2nd: Track 5 - Love whats done with the apache here, almost sinister in places. piano ws a great addition. good stuff!

3rd: Track 2 - Like this one a lot, chilled out vibes. massive shame about the weakness of the amen though

Track 6 - 3 points
Lovely mellow jungle vibe with contrasting machine-gun beats (which I always did prefer, back in the day!). Go Amen!
Track 2 - 2 points
Nice smooth intro, with a lovely drop. Very crisp Amenage , allied with atmospheric vibes.
Track 12 - 1 point
A nice mix of old-skool jumgle vibes/samples with a 2012 twist.

Wicked standard of submissions, took an age to pick 3 tbh. Well done all
Congrats to DJ Jamie for a wicked comp, too. Props!

Heazy now. Just writing up the D&BA blog post for this. I'm judging too. Gotta say there's some fucking firebrand skills on this forum. VERY tough decisions to make before June 24.

Will link up the blog here when it's posted mid next week.

Big ups

OK for me it's this:

Track 9 - 3 Points
Just immense imo. Sick production. Totally hits the early jungle vibe for me....dub reggae ness, great breaks work, good samples, massive bass. I could really use some production tips from whoever did this!
Track 6 - 2 Points
As everyone says, the GLR vibe is all over this. Only criticism is the length, but the Amen drop just nailed it for me.
Track 13 - 1 Point
Just loved all the Africa related samples.....more original than some and made it stand out for me.
With the whole gunshots ruff neck grittiness made it feel proper jungle. nice

Third position was the hardest to pick. Tracks 2, 4, 7, 12, 14 all could have done it....in fact
pretty much all the tunes are awesome and on any given day I might have picked it different!

Biggups to all, really enjoyed this comp and learnt a lot too.

Track one - Yes liking the dark intro here sounds nice crisp and twisted (no individual) crikey the drop sounds
all over the place whoops to me the mix isn't right and it doesn't sound very atonal to me. The drums sound nicer at 2.12 for some reason but the mix and vibe just aren't up my street sorry jungle guy. Such a shame after such a promising intro. Almost too much variation and not enough groove.

Track Two - This is sounding subtle, I recognise that break lovely haunting piano and pad nom. Although intro is hanging on a bit now. Ok the drop sorry to say it's a little boring for me. You definitely have all the right
elements here and it all sounds nice although the mix is muddy b2b there just isn't enough bass going on. Nice edits and digging the pitched up and down drums.

Track Three - Pad of dreams hello. Liking the vocal sample and drums building up, waiting for the drop. Oh dear sorry but the bass sound sounds cheap and isn't my cuppa. Loving all the other elements the vocals and drums are shit hot really nice and steppy got me getting my mean mug on. Will the bass change for the second drop? No. Please keep at this track but change the sub and bass.

Track Four - Lil Kim? Foxy Brown? Aah the old rap/rnb jungle cross over. Apache a gwarn, nice drums nice bassline. Are the vocals carrying the track? Oh loving the switch up at around 1.15 nice sample usage takes me back. Much better track actually now really got me nodding my head. It's like a massive slab of jungle camembert. But I like camembert especially with cranberry sauce. Wow this is long, in fact it's like a mini mix good and bouncy but it's got a little basic in its two step phase and not into the bass after 6 minutes. This is just gratuitous now lol/

Track Five - Epic intro, sounds like a film. Please let the drop be as big as the intro, mmm nice and subtle
what’s going to happen yo this sound apocalyptic. Okay mix down isn't great but the vibe is nice, more apache bizzle yeah this is nice. The think I like about this track is its quite original sounding unlike what I've heard so far so points for that alone. Very dreamy, in fact I take back what I said about the mix down earlier it seems to have sorted itself out. I like. First one on the short list.

Track Six - This immediately sounds brilliant. Sounds like I’m in a production session with Static so this is
right up my street. GLR vibes all over this and best mix down so far everything has so much space. I have no
critique to add to this track and it is the number one tune so far. This will take some beating, I'm going to
stop trying and listen. Oh fuck no I'm not, that fuckin AMEN has ruined it FAR TOO LOUD, Jesus Christ had to turn down my headphones. Still a lovely tune but turn you’re fucking amen down bitch!

but also

Track Seven - Now I'm not a huge fan of reggae so this will have to impress me somehow as it's already not up my alley (no raggatron fassy ole bumbklaart) just not into the vibe sorry. Mix et al sounds okay, 2.14 sounds better like the bass and the vocal. I would have used this and dropped the earlier bits -shame it goes back into the same at the start again.

Track Eight - .wav eh? Fucking cheater already. Erm let me start this tune again as I have no Idea WTF is going on its very very very quiet. This has to be a piss take as of all the chav vocals sampled right? I hate it.

but also

Track Nine - Again more reggae so it's going to have to impress me. Very nice drums yes the bass is sick
loving this it brings me right back, not very original sounding as it's all been done before. This has a wicked
mix down and just about every sample from every jungle track lol. I do like it though I would skank out to this. It's got to be in the short list just for the vibe alone.

but also

Track Ten - Hip Hop intro sounding nice up ya area! Sounding promising in a DJ Premiere does jungle kinda way. Nice drums on the drop nice edits bass is quiet though which is a shame. For me being honest the drop is boring and the intro/break down doesn't suit the drop. Good effort though.

Track Eleven - This sounds modern. Drums sound fucking tough, nice female vocal lots of sonic lushness going on very dreamy almost trippy in places. Possibly a bit more variation in the drums. Really do like everything about this track though although it is a bit long but perfect for that long mix. Nice and original sounding like the drum edits and filtering. On the short list.

Track Twelve - Yes loving this already intro sounds bangalang! Yep like this a lot nice level mix down nice slow bpm although it's gone a bit raggatron still like it though. Nothing more to say, on the short list!

Track Thirteen - Dark reece style huh! Okay bass going on for too long would be better to add a few notes to the bass rather than just the drone IMO. Random samples just dropped in?? SHUT UP BASTARD (no Raj Chaudry)

Track Fourteen - Another drone bass?? Ah okay you do switch it up but not sure if I like the bass sound lol! Yep actually this isn't bad at all.

but also

Track Fifteen - Yes this sounds nice and dark, loving it so far nice mix down and good vibes here loving the
drums bass goes mad at 3.00 this is IKOS. Love it man! Big vibes on this tune. On the short list.

Can I just say big up Jamie for organizing this, c'mon people lets see some more in depth reviews.

My votes will follow later! Nearer the dealine.
