Stopped watching partridge in the 90s. Is it still good? Feels like he could well be in to the realms of scraping a dead barrel and flogging a horse etc

I know what you mean but the first series of 'I'm...' was 1998 and the second was 2002. Other than a on his tours and fosters funnies he hasn't done much with the character in 10 years. I imagine this will be a nearly a year in the making too. He hasn't really over done it.

i thought they were making a film later this year?
They are :-
quote:
The specials will be executive produced by Coogan with his Baby Cow business partner Henry Normal and The Thick of It creator Armando Iannucci, who is also involved in bringing Partridge to the big screen in a long-awaited film version next year.
Whilst this is excellent, excellent news, isn't this a bit hypocritical of Coogan getting in to bed with Murdoch given how vocal he was at Leveson?
This tbh. He made quite a lot of noise about Murdoch's papers hacking his phone etc and then goes and signs a deal with one of Murdoch's companies...weird.
It's not one of murdochs companies anymore though is it? (as mentioned in the news pretty much every day) They don't have the majority share and practically no sway in what goes on at BskyB anymore. The comedy the BBC have been commissioning recently has been piss poor and Sky Atlantic have stood out in the last year or two from putting out some of the best TV program's. Armando ianuccis u.s political comedy VEEP is coming out on there from August too.
They are obviously the only people who have given them the creative control that they needed.
Get over it because if sky hadn't have done it, you wouldnt be watching it ever in any form, interrupted or not.....
Sky and creative control? Give it a rest. They just paid more than anyone else was willing to pay. In response to the original post, downloading is your friend.
BBC don't scrimp on programs they want, unfortunately they prefer to dedicate their comedy schedule to stupid drivel for the mouth breathing population. It's common knowledge that Sky have been stepping their programming game up in the last few years and are keen to put out quality television. There's always going to be shit programs though of course, as most people are thick as shit or have no taste.....
