if i understand this correctly, you can sub in players that haven't played yet in a match round for ones that have and haev done craply, so i've frontloaded my team with cheap players from group a who may score points and i'll sub out if they do badly.

It's a lot more involved. You literally have to have it in mind the whole way through the tournament if you want to win.
