E.G The first result could mean the next two teams just have to play out a draw to qualify
i always thought if tied on points, it went to goal difference, then the result between teams equal on points, but seeing that russia went out with a better GD then i guess the above theory is wrong, or does that only apply when the result between the teams equal on points was a draw
Think that might have been 2002 WC, they got a late goal and went mental on the sidelines. Whole squad bundles etc only to find the score in the other game changed late as well lol

have they always done this, or was there an event where this happened that prompted them to bring in this rule, would be intersting to know if this ever happened, i.e. two teams deliberately played to a draw that ensured they both went through
