Arsenal fans, would you be happy to see Walcott move on or not?

I think the general consensus is meh. There was a lot of noise from fans wanting him out at various points last season, personally I'm not sure. Some gooners still rate him highly though of course.

The worst thing about him leaving would be the media shit storm about how we can't keep hold of our players, although when it's not City or Barcelona poaching our best player its usually someone who has been disappointing anyway and Wenger just being opportunistic.

Well the link I've seen is to Liverpool, so if he leaves I don't think it's a case of "can't keep hold of his players" and more "willing to let him go/not meeting wage demands".

I think he's a good player and he got 8 goals/8 assists in the league last season, he is fast which we sorely lack throughout the squad, and an upgrade on all our first team wingers. But obviously you've seen more than I have hence me asking whether he's actually good or just endlessly frustrating.

Yeah I think his wage demands have been laughable.

Personally I find him frustrating, possibly more so than any other current Arsenal player. If he could develop some consistency with his final ball and decision making in and around the box he could be great, but people have said that for years.

Trouble is Walcott seems to play better (or at least slightly more consistently) for England than he does us, so most of the country remain unaware of his erratic mediocrity the rest of the time. He has the footballing ability of a mid-table Championship player. When you talk about somebody having a 'football brain', he is the complete antithesis. As soon as he receives the ball and has to think about the next move, he will invariably cock it up. Can't pass, can't cross, generally can't shoot. His athleticism has got him this far but after you see through that there really isn't a great deal left.

Johnson isn't a starter so will leave for cheap. Adebayor is worth more than 6m but he went for cheap as he is surfeit to Man City's needs. Livewire is dense.

Agreed. If the kid's expecting huge wages, he can do one. Oxo-Cube is already a better player.

Walcott is a Premiership standard player no doubt, but I don't think he is good enough for a starting place in a top 4 team.

Liverpool would be good for him, they would finally have some width and pace which was what Downing was supposed to give, but he is gash.

Walcott has never really suited Arsenal. They like more tippy tappy, through the middle stuff and he'd suit a more swashbuckling, direct team.

Who do people reckon will be top goal scorer next season?
Just had a punt on Papiss Cisse at 20/1

Excellent signing for you, great potential, at one point last season when we beat them in the Worthless Cup Man United were sniffing around him as well as more recently Newcastle and West Ham.

He's diaplayed great loyalty as well, at the time the club went into administration (2010), Wolves made an offer for him in the winter transfer window and I believe (obviously no idea how much truth there is in this) he refused to even talk to them as he felt loyalty to Palace and wanted to play for the club to ensure they kept their Championship status which I was always impressed with as I can't imagine that many champtionship players would knock back the opportunity to play in the premiership.

Many of the older Palace faithful rate him as the bext defender they've ever seen at the club, they see more potential in him than Ashley Cole who was loaned to Palace as a teenager.

£1.5m I believe is the agreed compenstation and IMO that's a great deal for Southampton. Hopefully he will realise his potential and I can see him slotting very nicely into the way Southampton play.

Saw Sigurdsson score within 10 minutes of coming on against Stevenage last night.
He looked sharp.
Vertonghen looked relaxed and tidy in possession.

Tom Carroll pretty much changed the game when he come on. He is always available for the ball and never panics in possession. I really hope he gets some good game time this season as he has so much potential, just needs to get on the weights.

this was against stevenage tho, i seem to remember him not being so cool at the europa's last season, can see that the boy definitely has potential tho, would like to see him get loaned out as apart from the cup games and europe, he isn't going to get much game time
