the wet bud of an unlit filter cig, when you've been meaning to light it but you are to pre-occupied with being an idiot in another regard - the taste of failure.

Fucking horrible, I get this atleast twice a week and it still never fails to terrify me.
I enjoy it now-a-days. I don't get it as often as that but, when I do, I make the most of it. It can be really enjoyable if you realise that it's happening and just relax and go with it.
It's the first bit when you don't realise what's happening that really fucks me up. When you're drifting in and out of some fucked up dream, you can't move, can't breathe, your heart is pounding and you don't know what the fuck is going on. Aaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh

Ditto. Once you realise it's only temporary you can just allow it as a bit of a trippy experience

A mate of mine says he's had this for years. He gets some 'thing' lie on his back, pinning him down in the night whispering scary stuff in his ear
For me, that 'jump' thing that happends as you're falling asleep happens to me almost daily! Tis bedtime comedy

I get that Hypnic Jerk. Just as i am falling asleep i suddenly bolt up and havent got a clue where i am, hearts pumping and feels like im having a heart attack. I thought i had heart problems or something at first but then i found out what it was.
Its just the initial shock for the first few seconds of where the fuck am i and what the fuck is going on. Seen the shadow man a few times. Never had the paralysis though, that would scare the shit out of me!
Doctor seems to think its cannabis related. Still happens when i dont smoke

Have you ever given up long enough to know that for sure? like over 4 months?

I used to get this pretty much every night just as I was falling asleep. I used to smoke weed heavily but quit about 8 years ago. It was happening regularly up until a couple of years ago but hasn't happened for ages now.
Managin to mustor up the guts to hit a spider with a book on the wall. it falls to the floor so i jump back off my bed, tap the light shade with my head panicing thinking its another spider then freaking out and going all itchy.
