ORIGINAL: Ronald Wardo Heard it for the first time today... Shower of shit yes, but, and this probably has already been said, "you know you're only in it 'cos it's hot right now" - is effectively a big fuck you to the pop charts and popular music followers in general. Maybe not intentional, but to me that's a redeeming quality, and one that can only really be appreciated by the people who know where Fresh originally earned his respect. lol if you actually believe that. If anything it'll just make the pop chart kids that buy it think they're part of some kind of counter culture and they're "real d&b heads" giving the finger to the mainstream. I have nothing against Fresh though, I don't have much of an opinion on anything that gets to #1 in the charts so I don't see why this would be any different, he hasn't made the sort of d&b I'd listen to for years now anyway. I'm not saying it will make anyone do anything. If Fresh had sustained his integrity before topping the charts, this would basically be a Charlie Brooker wet dream.

When Gerrard lifted the Carling up, there was only one tune to play - DJ Fresh "Hot right now" Still loving this tune no matter what people say, and 90,000 people in Wembley heard it, and millions watching on tv, big up Fresh! Infact they should have dropped this track at Fabric on Friday, given some of the selection I heard that night.............

ORIGINAL: wiseacre http://www.thecmuwebsite.com/article/eddy-says-drum-n-bass-topping-the-charts-amen-to-that/ Notice how little he says about DJ Fresh and it's basically him bigging up jungle and Goldie. Article starts: "The chart achievement may only have lasted a week, but its no less of a milestone. So why hasn’t this been more celebrated? Eddy Temple-Morris looks back at the long journey of drum n bass. Last week the number one single in the UK was a drum n bass tune. DJ Fresh managed what no other DnB artist in the genre’s glorious history has done over all these years. Yet it feels to me like not enough was made of this fact. Surely I can’t be the only one for whom this was a massively big deal?" Well maybe if he listened to the two next to eachother he'd understand why.

He's made a career of latching onto the latest big thing and writing rim licking pieces about them. Radio wise he's like a small time Zane Lowe Done the odd decent remix and bootleg but for the most part I don't like him at all.

Fair enough. but he's a music journalist, that's what they do. at least he seems pretty passionate about Goldie's music etc. i think he's alright tbh. didn't Zane Lowe start out as a runner on his MTV show?

then head to the dancefloor above to nod my head and digest to the sounds of ferocious Amen breaks, played by the likes of Peshay, Randall, Doc Scott, Dillinja, J Majik, Lemon D, Photek and the like, until the club finished at 1am sharp and all of us with jobs could go home and get up without the red eyes that betrayed seven hours in a nightclub. He sounds alright to me

I dont rate this tune. It wouldn't have been anywhere near as commercially popular if it didn't have the cheesy vocal. Same goes for 'Louder'.
