big nite of fights, I fucking love machida I used to not like him but he is something special, will be a shame when guys like him and anderson retire they are like real artists in there, shogun seems to be content to get into wars these days its fucking shit because he should be in his prime now smashing guys but he's had like 3 knee surgeries which doesn't allow him to train properly thats why he gassed, now he looks flat footed and sluggish b2b pudgy, shogun looked best in ufc when he fought liddell look at the head movement and mobility

we have the 2 worst heavyweights in the ufc lewl oli thompson and broughton hell has there ever been a somewhat decent british heavyweight in mma? I seriously can't think of one other than ian freeman

Shogun and Machida are legends. I remember watching Shogun break his elbow in pride... fucking horrible. I think I screamed when I saw that..

Machida is a next don too... when he first came to the UFC and boxed up Rashad Evans. How is he doing? He was champ for a good while.. drinks his own piss too.

Need to get on this shit again

Sorry, I meant how is Machida doing?

Didn't Evans lose to Rampage too? Or am I just imagining that?

That was a great card - especially enjoyed that Lauzon/Varner fight, one of the best of the year so far IMO.

Have to give Vera credit too, looked like a different fighter, didn't pussy out as soon as he took a few shots. Agreed re: Shogun, guy is fading really fast.

Machida KO was sick, Bader sux, jog on. Lyoto still has minimal-to-zero chance vs Bones, they should've done Machida vs Shogun 3 first.

Makes me chuckle how everyone, Dana included, keeps saying Machida will be fighting Jones next. Hendo can't be happy!

Thanks for the links. Henderson/Edgar was a bit of a let down IMO, the first fight was a lot more exciting but the right man got the decision in the end.

The cowboy fight was great while it lasted, I thought he was on his way out. Guillard had ample opportunity to finish him off, great KO though.

Frankie clearly won that fight.

round 1 -- benson
round 2 -- edgar
round 3 -- either edgar or 10-10
round 4 -- edgar
round 5 -- either edgar or 10-10

i was speachless that benson got gifted that. he got out worked, countered all night, taken down twice with solid submission attempts both times and great control.
all bendon really did was land a handful of very nice leg kicks and a couple of nice body kicks, with one nice head kick.

karma tbh, frankie's had way too many close decisions gifted his way, the first bj fight and the second maynard fight he should have lost

I had Edgar winning just. Glad he lost though, has been bringing the worst out in fighters of late, not even beating them well. And if i have to sit through another 50min 2 fight dance!...

Yeah, did he really WIN the title back though? Although the numbers don't neccessarily tell the tale, they were strongly in Benson's favour.

Personally I'm pretty bored with Edgar, glad to see him drop off the radar and allow the numerous other beast LWs to step into the limelight and get their chance.

Diaz v Bendo and Cerrone v Pettis are pretty damn mouth-watering.

How insanely good is that Fox card?!

Diaz vs Bendo

Shogun vs Gustafsson

BJ Penn vs MacDonald

Cerrone vs Pettis

About time they went large on one of those Network cards, can't go wrong with that line-up.

so Bones Jones Hendo is off.

Im glad they cancelled the event. Looked poor.

Props to Dana for smashing Jackson and Bones.

I think the point is that,
with all sports 1990s on that becomes big > becomes more of a business > more interests/money to protect = more boring outcomes/decisions.

That was the beauty of the UFC/mma, latest exiting sport not to be affected like boxing or boring footy etc..
but now monies being made, all the rubbish comes with it. Victim of its own success.

Jackson getting shit for giving his fighter the correct advise.

jones says no to sonnen on days notice and is the biggest ducker ever.
|Machida say no to Jones on a months notice and its a smart move. MMA fans are so simple sometimes.
