Boring more then anything for us, just in a hospital room waiting and waiting. When it did start working the drugs gave her mega contractions so she went straight in with an epidural and was a blessy blissy birth for all concerned. In her words, 'I don't understand why everyone doesn't just have an epidural.' Baby was born and she was fully on the ball and with it, not shattered after hrs of pain...

Cheers for the well wishes. It does just change everything. Never really liked most kids so was worried about bonding. Truesay its such a cliché but fell in love with this little bastard the moment I met him.

Does an epidural put her out of action for a few days after?  Or not too bad?

Ours (hers!) was a “mobile” epidural so could still move about etc... absolutely the best thing during labour. However they topped it up in theatre before the caesarean and it made her numb up to her neck

My Mrs has been in the hospital the last couple of days having blood tests and they've said that if she hasn't had a miscarriage yet then she will very soon. Fucking gutted.

Really sorry to hear that mate, we lost our first attempt but luckily was pretty early on so the impact was less.

Thoughts with you.

Thanks all.

This was pretty early as well but we've wanted another baby for what seems like forever and we were so fucking buzzing that another was on the way.

Just got to keep trying I guess.

Shit didn't read that properly. Sorry to hear it. My Mrs was 11 weeks. Not that late, bit late enough to have to go into hospital for it.

Sorry to hear that lads, fucking wounding and the most indescribably hollow feeling ever, soul destroying. But persevere. Me and the missus had a real rough run of it, 3 failed pregnancies in the last 2 years, the first a termination at 13 weeks due to a Edward's Syndrome diagnosis, a miscarriage at 12 weeks the following, and an ectopic requiring total removal of 1 of her tubes the 3rd. But, fourth time lucky and our little man is a month old tomorrow and we couldn't be happier. Chin up there will be light at the end of a very dark tunnel.
