cheers guys

yeah, i mean the shift from no kids to one kid to so huge, that having an extra one there can't be that much worse...can it?!

i know it's going to be intense but it's been a long road to get here for us so now we're finally pregnant I'm just over the moon for whatever we get. it's a ready-made family so i'm more stoked than shitting it tbh

It'll be difficult probably on a scale you've not encountered before but you will cope and you won't know any different Vs having just one kid.

I think it would be far worse to have twins after having had just one kid at first :0. Colleague of mine has twins and he's pretty chill, just says they're all done breeding now

"We're pregnant" is a mttbm though lol. You're not pregnant, she is! Congrats tho!

Congrats both. I would imagine twins would be bloody hard work but I guess you have nothing to compare it to?!

Dave - any ideas on names ?

I reckon it'll be awesome. Basically your kids have got a best friend for life from birth, that's a beautiful thing.

Or a mortal enemy.

Yeah congrats Gav. I was secretly hoping for twins. Get it all done in one hit. However i'm going to have to go through this all again in 6 months time (all being well).

6 months lol. Are you mad?

I think I'd barely had sex 3 times in the 6 months after my daughter was born (possibly less).  Good luck with breeding again that fast lol

Afraid so... we don't want an only child and time is not on our side, we've left it a bit late.

On the subject of milky boobs...  helping collect milk/colostrum really is not the one, a butler would come in really handy for this awful task.

Lactation
You can bake it or freeze it

You can't make cheese from it
Lactation
But you'd better believe it

I stuck it in my brother in laws cup of tea when he was being a dick one day.

Added some conventional milk as well and he never noticed - one of those private victories you celebrate in your head every time he continues to be a massive penis.

Exactly that. She's on high blood pressure meds and there is a slim chance the baby could have low blood sugar for the first few hours, so we are collecting small syringes of the first nutrient rich milk (colostrum) to feed once born, if needed.

As long as your nipples don't resemble stepped on fruit pastilles then OK

just found out we're having twins! due mid september, but probably earlier

over the moon b2b fucking terrified

anyone else had double trouble?

I'm 18 months into double trouble - 2 boys.

I'm not gonna sugar coat it for you mate. The first 6-9 months are pretty brutal.

With my first we could take it in turns to have a few hours off. Or I'd kip In the spare room if I had a meeting or whatever early the next day. No such luck with one each.
Plus we had no family about really so had very little help.

Also, for me, it was much better to have done it all once already because we'd gained the experience and confidence to know what worked for us and how to read signals from them without flapping or constantly questioning what your doing. Sleep deprivation makes even the most simple decision appear life or death! Especially with tandem screaming in the background.

Saying all that. We are in a great place now. Boys are constantly hilarious with each other, and It feels pretty special to have had a unique experience. Plus they will always be able to entertain / support each other.

When they're not biting each other or smashing toys in to each others faces.

Drop me a DM if there's anything in particular that you aren't sure about mate. I'm no expert, but think we've done an alright job all things considered!

Nah, we broke up January last year, but I went back there around Christmas time.
