You know, it's funny, cos I had originally intended to give this a wide berth for fear it would ruin Alien for me. But the more I hear about how truly horrendous it is the more I want to see it so I can revel in the absolute mess of it all. Kind of like a sci-fi version of 'The Room'
Grade trying to compare its flaws with Alien is just utterly laughable.
I was just making the point that everyone is just being ridiculously critical or downright dumb with regards to anything that is not directly shown on screen in Prometheus. You could take Alien apart piece by piece if you wanted.
'Aliens' is on Channel 4 right about now.. it's the Special Edition too.
Hazar!
Alright sweethearts what are you waiting for, breakfast in bed? Another glorious day in the corps! A day in the marine corps is like a day on the farm... every meal's a banquet, every paycheck a fortune, every formation a parade, I love the corps!
Haha. Case closed. One thing that does annoy me though is that the poster is stuck back on the wall. How would Andy crawl through the hole, then cover it up with the poster again from inside. Doesn't really affect the flow of the film, and the poster reveal is good for dramatic effect but still, mans got sikk bloo takk skillz.
REALLY!?
I've heard pretty well respected film critics talking about this plot hole and i can vaguely remember watching the film years ago and seeing it.
I can see there's only a few mentions of it online so maybe you're right.
Anyway thats irrelevant to the point i was making, that is/would be an example of a genuine game breaking plot hole, prometheus doesn't have anything like that. All the questions people are repeatedly asking dont constitute plot hole in my eyes, they're just examples of poorly executed ideas and shabby writing; they're not completely inexplicable. I'm not saying everything in the film worked but the hyper-criticism its getting just reeks of scorned fan boy cry wanking.
Its a flawed film but was still enjoyable for everyone who hadn't been nursing a raging hard on for the film all the way through its production.
Anyway, can't be arsed with this thread. Well dull innit.
Yeah thats pretty interesting stuff, definitely a strong theory with alot to back it up. Very little blind assumption there and lots of referencing. I'd never ever get any of this religious stuff unless someone pointed it out to me.
Whether this is right or not it shows you can explain alot of these so called 'glaring plot holes'.
Didn't you just say it was a 'disgrace'? Yet you enjoyed it.
Pull up my whole quote.
Compairing it to Alien highlights how much of a disgrace the script, character development etc was.....
Visually the film was stunning and on a very linear level... the film was enjoyable to me.
Are you Damon Lindelof's lovechild or something? You are hell bent on trying to do everything in your power to defend the film... pulling up quotes and trying to use them out of context now?

I just can't resist an argument and it's more the fact that the film is nowhere near as bad as people are making out in their massive rants. The only reason I did that Alien comparison thing was to highlight this point, that it is more people on here being tedious pedants than it is actually a bad film. Anyway that is me done in here I think.
