Kinda interested to hear what people thought of the new one. I wasn't feeling it at all but that might be because I was in a terrible mood when I watched it, maybe I should give it another go at some point.

Was it me or was it actually a bit crap? The lack of discussion so far suggests the latter tbh.

Yeah I didn't post about it because I was disappointed but I feel like they're my friends and I want them to succeed.

Hopefully it will pick up. I feel like they've had a few weak starts?

I get what you're saying.

To be fair even if this entire series was dire it would be wrong to say that it wasn't a success overall. I'm sure it exceeded all our expectations despite the slight changes in the name of mass appeal such as focusing less on lyric based jokes and the radio side of things.

It's probably ridiculously hard to keep things going for this long anyhow, I mean it's been around 7 years which is mad when you think about it. Not to mention their content isn't limited to the TV show, they've got all the live performances and radio appearances to think about. It's quite the achievement imo.

I couldn't get into phoneshop myself but if you combined that with your last post I think you'd be onto a winner.

I much prefer PJDN to Phoneshop. Phoneshop always gave the impression of a script concocted by suits in a boardroom, whereas it feels more genuine with these guys.

Just watched the first episode and thought it was pretty good.

It was no worse (or better) than anything in the previous series... but still not a patch on the first 3 series.

Phoneshop was written by the cast.

PJDN is written by one of the writers of The Office I think.

That guy just produces it. You can tell when he got involved cos grindah started sounding like David Brent.

Steves and Grindah write it I think

One of the guys from the Office is involved but he didn't come up with the premise and Steve's still seems to be the main writer.

Fair enough if the cast wrote Phoneshop but the overly bait accents and everything make it feel it isn't really their background. Maybe it is but it just doesn't feel it to me. One of them is so old it looks like Harry Enfield playing Kevin or something.

Thought the first episode was a bit meh. Grindah is wearing thin now and I’m pretty sure I said that last season

Loved Phoneshop but prefer PJDN, wasn't Ricky Gervais involved with creating Phoneshop?

Phone shop was funny, but doesn’t compare to PJDN in terms of writing / acting imo

Some bits were fucking hilarious. Chabuds kills it. Then some of it dragged like fuck. Not in the funny cringe way, just cringe for how shit it was.

I quite liked that one. Beats at uni and whatsherface making the two girls fight did get slightly tiresome after a bit but the rest was decent. Nice to see some radio scenes for once.

Yeah I enjoyed this, listened to the Better Call Saul podcast as well which has a load of behind the scenes stuff.

I think working on a TV show would be my dream job, especially if it was with my mates.

The original web shows are searchable on google, but i can't remember if they are youtube or not. But when i watched them a couple of weeks ago i was unable to find the park video one, which i think was the final one.

Yeah it was pretty different though, few similarities milk water, them on the gym equipment etc, i was worried it was gonna be exactly the same. That original video one was jokes though lol

Found the original video - but not the making of (which was the actual episode) https://youtu.be/Ni8ibMKyTEw
