This will be the best film so far this millennium imo.

You really are setting yourself up for the disappointment of a millenium

It's Razor. That is his specialty.

I do want it to be amazing but I refuse to get excited anymore.... rather just ignore it until it comes out and go and watch it with an open mind and no expectations

Too much daylight and not enough rain in that trailer IMO

I'm half serious too. Like a lot of people in the comments say... this kinda looks just like a futuristic blockbuster. It doesn't feel like it has the mood and subtleties of the original.

An army of replicants are gonna destroy the world, and our protagonist has to save the world? Sounds very familiar doesnt it.

That new trailer reminded me bit too much of the terrible Total Recall remake.

I'm sure it'll have a good balance. I guess they have to show some action in the trailer to get people in the cinema.

I don't think it will be action packed, there was a trailer for the original that made it look action packed too.

I agree there should be more dark and rainy scenes but there probably will be and that's just the trailer trying to make it look exciting for the average mong.

Ok after watching again on an OLED screen i'm more impressed. I just think i'm struggling to come to terms with Blade Runner being in super sharp HD and not always looking murky and rainy, but that's more my problem with thinking the original is the perfect movie and wanting a sequel to look exactly the same which was never realistic. Great acting by Leto in that, i was a bit sceptical about him before. I think it's the camera work that made that clip seem like a tv show, i'm sure it will be much better with Villeneuve behind the camera.

Watched it again yesterday and was once again overwhelmed by the opening.  There's more beauty and power in that first 90 seconds than 99% of films contain in their entire runtime.   Absolute masterpiece from start to finish.  It cannot be topped.

This scene is a good example, look how murky and low res everything is, because you can't see what's going on your imagination tells you anything could be going on, the world feels 'busy' and lived in because there is an air of mystery about what you're seeing, when everything is in crystal clear HD you can tell it's a model and you can see that there's no one walking around or driving around below the buildings and the whole thing feels artificial and less immersive. Blade Runner is an example of HD doing more harm than good and there's been quite a few films where it has been. I remember watching Battletar Galactica in SD and all the ships looked real, the sets looked like real places and the battles were like watching a documentary, then i saw the last couple of seasons in HD and it looked low budget and felt less immersive. I don't know what the solution is, there probably isn't one and i guess we will never get back the atmosphere of 80s movies and that's why it will always be the greatest decade for movies.

This is my problem with a lot of 80's movie remakes/ reboots/ prequels etc...... they have completely lost whatever vibe they had going on back then in the 80's and think the answer lies in opening everything up and revealing things that were best left to the imagination... I don't think this is just limited to the special effects and visuals either..    What Ridley Scott did with the engineers plot in Prometheus for example, took away all the mystique and ended with some half baked, ludicrous and frankly, insulting storyline that actually ruins some of the brilliance of Alien

Tickets on sale now. Can't decide whether to get imax 2d or 3d, it doesn't seem like there was much planning for the 3d and they aren't even showing it in imax 3d in America which makes me think it won't be very good.

Fuck 3D. Always gives me a headache. I'm going to watch a film, if it's good it shouldn't need bullshit gimmicks.

yeah don't do it to yourself man. if you're set on the 3D then watch it in 2D first and then maybe go back?

would be a shame for shit 3D to ruin a good film (fingers crossed).

Yeah i just got IMAX 2D in the end, can't go wrong then. Saturday 7th October can't come soon enough. If the 3D gets decent reviews i'll grab the blu ray.

I just watched the original again, it somehow manages to become more gripping and mesmerising even after all these years and after watching it more than 30 times, watching it on an OLED for the first time made it feel like a remastered version, the colours looked incredible and elevate the film to a next level. It's the best example i've seen to show off OLED.

I didn't realise all those tweets were from journalists from the Telegraph, Guardian etc. It's officially time to get excited. I was pretty sure this would be a great film but to potentially be better than the original is something I couldn't have imagined.
