spils do you know if you get on the beta by pre-ordering the game? i know they tried to shift medal of honor by promising a beta code for this, but they haven't mentioned anything about getting on it if you pre-order the actual game.
Dont really no much about the open beta mate, I'm on the closed beta with CT so not to sure. I no you can get it with MOH so if you really want teh beta code just wait till closer to when teh open beta goes live and pick up MOH for about a penny.
I normaly always get beta access codes, I've given a few away to friends on here like stowlley, I'll post up If i get any for this and any of the none wanker members can take them.
Spynorm will be top of the list though as hes been my cannon fodder on BC2 for a long time now he deserves it for all those times Ive knifed and murdered him on Bc2 :D
Its worth preording for the return of Karkand alone PD. The other 3 maps are just a bonus.
Any Bf2 player worth his weight in gold is a master of karkand, its one of the best maps found in any game in its current form, with frostbite 2.0 in the mix,

well i'll be bored of multiplayer within a month or two no matter how many bricks in the wall you can individually fire bullets at. so i want a memorable campaign for my money at least innit. not everyone are virtual paintball whores!
@spils, is the frostbite 2 engine being planned for use with any other games that you know of?

As the engine is just nearing its completion stage nothing as been announced yet, but same what happened with the Refractor engine DICE will develop FB2.0 for all there future titles. There quite a bit of interest in the engine from a lot of development studios, but nothing I no of concrete.
I can see this becoming the new Unreal/quake engine. if I'm honest. The studios will be falling over themselves to get hold of the SDK.
The old core engine worked very well even as a racing platform as was show by DICE with there rally title. rally Sport Challenge, so this should be very flexible.
Frostibite 2.0 is years ahead of everything, there's been nothing like this since 2007. The more games that utilize its performance the better.

i do agree. i will be buying bf3 (undecided whether to get pc or ps3 version as yet), but was bored of military shooters a long time ago. would deffo like to see some other stuff, i dunno, horror or sci-fi preferrably, on the fb2 engine. dead space 3 using frostbite 2, mmmmmm.

Seems pretty obvious to me
well yeah. i would need to get a new graphics card for my pc, but the rest of the system would be ok. and i don't know if paying for a graphics card just for this one game is worth it. i wouldn't start hammering the computer playing lots of games just cuz i got the graphics card for it, because i use this computer pretty much for making music / programming only. (hence the lack of great graphics card). it's not on the internet either to avoid viruses. use the laptop for net. if i got it online to play bf3 and i got a virus and lost music/programming stuff i would be severely pissed.
you've got to be pretty careless/a n00b to get infected with a virus though, and you should also be backing your important work up to the cloud and external physical storage too. it's not just viruses that can lose your work.
i do backup my stuff to cds, but only every couple of weeks. a couple of weeks of work is alot. i've had a virus on the laptop from simply going to doa, and imageshack, and clicking a video link from facebook before. nothing to do with being careless. i don't use torrents or pirate anything etc. best way to not have a problem is to not put the pc online, which is working just fine. that and the not wanting to fork out £150+ for a graphics card i'll use for one game. in the forseeable future at least.
