Had a good play on my mates Samsung galaxy II yesterday lovely phone.
BUT I have to say i didn't realise how nice and important to me sense is until its not there, I've used different launchers etc, but until its not there you really don't understand how good it is.
I can change my phone April was looking at going Samsung next just because I haven't had one of there android phones yet.
Think ill be getting another HTC after yesterday playing, the phone itself is superb and boy does it look good.
But man do HTC no how to make a bloody brilliant UI. For that reason Im out, unless anyone can change my mind ?
Am i just hating on Samsung UI as im not used to it ? or is it really as turd as I found it.
What is it about Sense you like so much over other launchers? I liked some of the Sense widgets but the dock really pissed me off and was the main reason I switched to Go Launcher.
All the ones i've seen in the app store look really ugly
it's literally the interface you use to do anything on your phone -layouts, menus, fonts, everything.
go launcher's default is nicer than 90% of the others ive seen. but there are hundreds of other skins for it. plus you can have 3d spinning spheres for your apps
Yeah im using Go Launcher's default. I hated Samsung's default UI. Why doesnt someone do a launcher that replicates the vanilla Android UI? Wouldnt be surprised if they do already.
Is there a way to swap all the icons on one page for another?
I've got random bollocks on page 2 and games on page 7, i'd like to swap them around but it's long doing them one by one
(sorry to be repetitive) i know you can do this with go launcher, dunno about the default one. if you get to the screen that shows all of your screen (does that make sense?) you may be able to move them about. swap screen one for screen four kinda-thing
Liveonlinefooty through a phone may just be the best thing ever
Why aren't they accepting any more registrations?
I guess he has enough members already and wants to keep it running smoothly and he probably wants to keep it on the d-low a bit, the new homepage doesn't make it obvious what the site is about

The name of the site is liveonlinefooty.com and it's got a big liveonlinefooty title on the homepage? Doesn't matter anyway.. Hope they open up invites need somewhere decent to stream football
Not really. Some tips for better battery, turn off auto sync, just manually do it once weekly to backup your contacts etc.... turn off auto brightness and just adjust it as needed via power control widget, same for mobile data and wifi, only turn it on when u need it, these minor thing can make a big difference. If you root it you can load custom kernels and governors which are awesome for performance / battery. I don't know what the development is like for the galaxy note tho, just check the xda forum for your device
- Keep your brightness down - Adjust the screen time out to a fewer seconds - Make sure wifi or bluetooth are not on at all times (use on demand)
I swear the battery life actually gets better with time a bit. But the beauty is you can easily buy another one and replace it yourself, its not expensive.
Also like contact said, when you can be bothered an nice custom ROM with Vanilla android can make a world of difference. My standard HTC Desire last barely 12 hours with all the Sense UI and all the shit running on it, when I rooted and install a custom ROM it last over 2 days with normal use.
I got Elixir app with a widget on home screen that tells me how many apps are running. When you press it you can force close any.
Also got a battery widget (from Beautiful widgets) which when pressed tells you the what the battery has been used on since charge. Wi-Fi is always around 24%
Re: battery life. Get a home screen widget that turns off/on the auto-rotate feature. It appears to save me loads of battery. My phone loses ~10% overnight now instead of 40%.
Was just about to Flash ICS on my N1. Decided against it as I don't fully understand what I'm doing, and decided not having a brick of a phone is more important.
