Jamie XX... et al

Jamie XX - Hats off to him

He's part of the XX, His remix's are seriously spot on.

And his his sets are really good.
I cant wait to hear more from him.

Between him, James Blake, Caribou and Four Tet there are serious marks beeing made (and have already been made) on the more "colourfull" side of electronic music.

Post examples and discuss...

Saw both James Blake and Jamie XX at Wigflex in Notts the other week, both played great sets.

Don't forget Falty DL and Martyn as well! Amazing stuff. Jamie xx's stuff is sheer class. Caught him at Glasto this year with Joy Orb straight after! BLISS. Heard Jamie'd played Sweet Like Chocolate in one of his sets though... Do not want!

Yes Mikey, Joy Orbison is a prime candidate,

Ive heard so many good things about glasto last year, wish id gone

People need to check Kyle Hall, the detroit house boy-genius

Nothing wrong with sweet like chocolate IMO. It's a guilty pleasure, but a pleasure none-the-less.

Next week is Modeselektion at WHP

check this for a fucking amazing line up

^ ^ ^ ^
Im still crying that i cant afford the mission

Husdon Mowhawke will be a blinder too, something a bit different, I dont understand how his music can at the same time be so hectic and melodic at the same time

Kyle Hall is a bang on the money. Have you heard his Oats B So Deep Mix??
-----------------------------------

Im not sure if its me getting older, but its not all about the Ra Ra Ra anymore, i need a bit more substance to my music, dont get me wrong, everyone loves getting grimey and pulling bass faces, just not all the time

Nice one purchase, hopefully bump into you there then

Yeah, Phaeleh, Pariah hugely and faltydl

Submerse and Synkro I find a bit disappointing, their productions lack something, like they are still a bit amateur. Especially submerse. So many times I'll hear a tune of his and then the latter part of it has some really shitty bass in it that sounds like a fart

yeah man, that was kind of my point. If you ever get a chance to check a Indigo & Synkro set then jump straight on it.

Last time I saw them play was in a low ceiling dunngeon at outlook this year. Was litterally doing this the whole time : [sm=jawdrop[1].gif]

@ Myk:   Synkro is far from a novice, a true proffesional, have you seen him live?

Just once and I was really disappointed. He was my favourite producer of the moment - this was in about April - and I loved his burial-esque sound. Was well geared up for a quality set from him at the indoor festival Notts and he came out and played the same wobbly synthy shit that every other dubstep DJ was playing that night. Was gutted.

Gutting, we had him down in cardiff and he killed really deep, played a bit of really nice minimal drum & bass too. 2hr set and he was really tight, everything from sellection to eq'ing was brilliant. I think you just had an unlucky encounter

Yeah, I still rate him massively so I will always hope to check him out. I suppose he just gauged the crowd and went for that.

It started so promising too, he started with the intro track to MJ Cole's Sincere album
