The fried chicken and slow cooked bacon rib at foxlow are absolutely superb. Same owners as hawksmoor too so you know the steaks are legit

Foxlow had some of the worst service i've ever encountered, absolute cunts the lot of them. It's been the same for a few other people I know.

That was the Stoke Newington branch though, went to the clerkenwell one years ago and it was decent. Still, fuck them.

I’m allowed to hold an annual “Christmas party” for my company, which basically means I get to take my missus out for dinner on the company account.

Any recent recommendations for an excellent steak in London? She’s not that much of a meat eater, so somewhere with decent alternatives on the menu would be good as well.

Mainly though, the steak.

This is somewhere I really want to try after hearing good things:

Because we had a kid with us they binned us off into a dingy corner of the basement, literally as far from anyone else (except 1 other couple with a kid) as possible, next to the back door that staff kept leaving open, then our food was virtually thrown onto the table by some smelly looking grebo bird.

Anyone have any recommendations for places in central London that are meaty but not your typical burger or steak places?

smoking goat, blacklock or temper mate

It's alright I don't go out of my way for it though. Pitchers of Hell's Lager with Brunch is worth a visit for though.

Fried Chicken joints might a good a call actually. Trying to satisfy people who don't have an open mind to food is bloody difficult.

Curry is the one thing we are spoilt for choice for round here, Everest Spice in Epsom regularly gets voted as one of the best in the country, it's the chicken shops or Caribbean places i wish we had more of.

Where did you hear about that place? It's round the corner from me, hasn't been there long

Are you near the WatersEdge Rayz?

Another good one for Epsom massive is Le Raj on epsom downs, pure fire. David Cameron used to pop in there.

The best carribean place local to Surrey is Ting n Ting in Merton.

Late to the show but did MEAT Liquor for the first time last night.
Burger was amazing and the Braai chicken wings nearly blew my head off.
Only downer was I tried one of their white Russian milkshake things and it was horrible. Not sure why I thought I'd like it tbh
