[DISCOGS] The Official Discogs Thread

I've uploaded my collection to Discogs to help fund my wedding all good prices. Check it out and leave a link to your dogs account here (as there have been a fair few threads here recently). I'm also interested in buying entire collections, so give me a shout if you need to sell quickly.

Is this thread intended for non sellers for showing off?

having a large record collection is like having a child and discussing it at school gates with other "mums".
Instead of "My Damien's just got his A Level in Latin and he's only six years old. His hedge fund is also going well etc etc", it's recounting tales of the most loved releases, and showing off the rare stuff.

My record collection doesn't cry in the middle of the night or annoy the next door neighbours with ball games.

Mine annoys my mother though. It shits 7" records onto the carpet in my sleep.

Selling quite a few of mine and will stick some more up over the next week or so.

Buying tunes is slowly dying out for me I think.

The logic of this thread is a little weird. Surely people on this forum looking to buy tunes from discogs would go to the discogs website and look for the tunes at the best price/condition rather than coming to this thread?

@TopNotch - I have a job lot of 230 house tunes that I've been meaning to stick up on Gumtree but haven't got round to it. I just want to clear the space. If that interests you send me a PM.

Logic of the thread is quite simple, advertise to sell my records x 1 + i've seen a fair few 'buy my stuff from discogs threads' and thought it might be worth consolidating them into one thread.

I didn't know about discogs until last week as i'm not a true vinyl junkie so a few people might not know about it. Thus far i've sold to people in Spain x 2, Ireland and the UK. It really is a dope site.

And yes sad as it may seem i'm selling my choons to give a small kick to the wedding fund, to be honest it's no skin off my nose as i'm and MC not a DJ and I dabble with production so I have no romantic connection to my records.

@ Mel Devil your collection is probably too large for my budget but if you are keen and offering a discount for bulk purchase pm me

How long do you leave it when someone has bought something but not paid for it before you cancel their order and re-list?

I sorted out my records over the weekend, out of about 2000 managed to find about 750 I didn't want.

Sold 400 of them for £100 to someone who's going to list them on Discogs to sell, I really couldn't be bothered lol

Did keep all the ones worth £10 and over though, got some old jungle worth a few bob so will put those up for sale.

Typically 3-5 days, not through selling but I've bought enough to know the standard. Have you contacted them yet since the sale?

that's grounds for a negging.

if they had contacted you then a week or so is fine, but as they haven't fuck em. there's plenty of feedback given by big sellers with "no payment after 3 days", etc. have a look at their feedback; chances are they bought some other stuff at the same time and they will have been negged for it already.

I'd pull the sale tomorrow morning, slow mongy sellers don't deserve your patience. Their feedback might tell a different story but you've given enough time.
