No idea why they went for the original controller

Strange decision but I'm still looking forward to it, I really hope there's a way to add more games to it. No Gran Turismo is the weirdest ommision, I can understand not including Crash, Spyro etc as they have been remastered.

Although I guess getting all the car license for GT would have been too much hassle

The Japanese get Parasite Eve on their version, I always wanted to try that game.

Ssme

Dino crisis is deffo missing as well.

They should have picked rage racer as the driving game, absolute fucking joy that game, soundtrack was alright too. Sure it has less cars and less tracks but it had a drive it like you stole it feel that I adored.

Only ever played half way through though but it was really good.

I'm am sure you will be able to hack the PS mini anyway and put a good library of stuff on there...

Shame it doesn't have an SD slot, will need a memory stick sticking out the back of it as I doubt there will be much spare built in memory.

You can get Parasite Eve on the PS store but not the original, bit weird. It had Resident Evil style tank controls doesn't it?

I was planning on getting a CRT and collecting for the old consoles but these are so much more convenient and you still get the console under your TV without taking up loads of space. Not sure id even notice if the emulation isn't perfect tbh.

What games would you want on a PS2 mini?

I can't remember much about the controls... Only that you are a woman and go around murdering monsters that are secretly controlling the world

I remember it having a really good anime style feel to it. Sort of reminded me of devil man or legend of the overfiend with the human and spirit worlds running parallel

Would love to play it again.... Having said that, it probably looks like shit now

Defo Tenchu: Wrath Of Heaven. It's ridiculous that there hasn't been a proper Tenchu game since then.

And some forgotten gems like Freekstyle and Rez.

I had a pirate copy of Parasite Eve for Christmas back when I was a kid, not really my thing but still engaged me enough to see it through to the end.

I don't think it had tank controls, the combat was different to Resident Evil too. You evade enemy attacks in realtime until your attack meter is full and then you can freeze the action and pick a weapon and a target, no aiming involved in other words which is handy because of the fixed camera.

I don't really remember much of it these days but I remember it being good.

I dunno if you can call Rez a forgotten gem, it's been re-released twice since it originally came out

Good one to try on mushrooms that, the traveling mode is handy because you can't lose.

Don’t think anyone’s mentioned Ratchet and Clank yet, I remember that being pretty good, up there with Banjo Kazooie imo.

I've always wanted to play The Getaway, missed out on that one having not owned the console myself.

Parappa 2 is probably a given if a PS2 mini comes out and a lot better than the first imo, even if all the lyrics come out garbled on the higher levels.

Tony Hawk 3 would be great but I can't see that happening, licensing nightmare. SSX might be a problem too which is a real shame.

Timesplitters is a very good shout.

One of the first two Fifa Street games would be amazing but that won't happen.

Then again I have the Gamecube version of most of these on my Wii U so even if they were all there I still wouldn't buy it

The Getaway was alright but always felt like a poor GTA, that said just watched a video now and it looks better than I remembered

I know what you mean, I thought the same thing when I first saw it but people who I've spoke to have always been positive about it. I've only had a quick go at the very first mission, the dialogue was pretty silly from what I remember. Didn't it have really over the top cockney accents or something?

It was pretty much if Guy Ritchie made a game

Probably doesnt hold up now but at the time it was good fun, remember you used to heal from bullet wounds by leaning on a wall for a breather and the stain would disappear from your character

Edit: I think the second one was better Black Monday when you played the police officer

The Getaway was ok, but the unskippable 5 minute cutscenes were long though.

Ugh, god yeah.  Used to love chipping about London in a Rover 75 tho.

The storyline was pretty good iirc.  I never actually got past the mission where for some reason you had to sneak into a police station dressed as a BT man, was fucking solid.  I was pretty young tho.

Yeah this is pretty much what everyone has been saying, will have to give it a go sometime although I'll probably have to emulate it. It doesn't look like you can get it legit unless you get a PS2 disc.

After 40 minutes of Tetris Effect in PSVR I can taste colours, hear feelings and smell sounds. It’s a feast for the senses.

Beat Saber out in a couple of weeks too. RIP my cerebral cortex.

Nice new Digital Foundry video on the history of Tetris went up today, really enjoy these long retro videos they've started doing. Tetris Effect really is one of the games of the year, who woulda thought it

Oh while the forum was down I heard that the ps1 mini is apparently running the PCSX emulator.

You may as well just download the software and sort out a collection of good games at this point.

does sound real bare bones indeed.

no screen change options , only 1 save only per game , no rewind function , no Dualshock controllers , tons of famous games missing.

seems a pretty half arsed attempt. i'll pass.

Fallout 76 is a lot better than I was expecting. The whole scavenging and survival thing is perfectly suited to the post-apocalyptic setting. Really easy to play solo too if you're not into co-op with randoms.

Graphics are a bit shit but the world feels massive and full of shit to do.

RDR2 is going on the back burner - caned it hard for two weeks and it was starting to feel a bit stale and clunky.

Anyone get Spyro? I ordered it ages ago but not sure it will get a look in with Red Dead still on the go. Never played any of them before other than demos.

Fallout 76 has 1.6 user rating on meta critic lol

And they've said their next two games will still use the same old shitty engine. No thanks.
