I just wish they'd release a proper starfox game... Long overdue.

The last one on the Wii U was supposed to be pretty terrible.

I couldn't be bothered with it after the second or third level, when it's not confusing it's really tedious.

It's not even worth getting a pirate copy tbh.

The new Assassins Creed is obviously heavily inspired by The Witcher 3, it's by far the best one yet

What is the xp progression in AC odyssey like? Been reading a few articles saying grinding is purposefully long to encourage players to buy xp boost microtransactions. Sounds a bit shady but not played it myself.

Probably, it's not uncommon these days. You would never consider selling them if you genuinely believed your game was fun to play.

That doesn't really make sense, people wouldn't want to spend money on a game that isn't fun

They want you to spend money on making it fun is what I'm saying. I should have said otherwise at the end of that sentence really.

All it does is make you level up quicker really, it's for spazzas who want the game as easy as possible from the start.

Yes and they intentionally long things out to make the pay to skip option more tempting to players. It was a big part of the whole Star Wars Battlefront fiasco not long ago, the loot boxes have no value at all if the game is fun and rewarding enough without buying them.

Haven't noticed that in AC so far. It wasn't an issue Shadow of War either which everyone moaned about. I do think the whole issue is blown out of proportion, I've only ever experienced it ruining a game in mobile games. I quite enjoy buying the occasionally pack in FIFA, it's nearly all people who don't play the game that are moaning about it. I don't play online shooters which is the genre it ruins the most when it becomes pay to win.

Well yes, that makes sense really when you think about it. I'm sure most of those people would like to play said games but they have noticed in those or similar games some some of mechanic forcing them to slog through what they thought were shit parts of the game in order to enjoy the parts that they actually wanted to play.

You say you haven't experienced it ruining proper games but you have complained about the rubberbanding in Fifa before, this is something they've implemented so that skilled players such as yourself will still have a reason to buy cards (and also for shit players to feel like they have a chance again giving them more reason to buy cards). I'm sure as long as the micro transactions are there the dodgy online matches will keep happening, the best that you can hope for is that it becomes more subtle.

I don't think I've ever played a good Star Fox game. The music in the SNES one was sick and the graphics were sort of impressive at the time despite being ugly but the gameplay has always been below average. Only one that interested me was Adventures but never got round to playing it.

The original at the time was groundbreaking stuff... Nothing like that had ever been seen on a console before
Lylat wars was pretty amazing at the time too

Granted .. They haven't aged well but updating them for next gen like most other franchises like Zelda and Metroid is surely going to be a good thing?

Star Fox Racing will probably be the next game in the series, hopefully it's something like a modern Diddy Kong Racing

Thats what some the rumours said - it has a story mode and hub world like Diddy Kong Racing. spposed to be Retro Studios making it. Still sounds weird tho a Star Fox racing game ? Probably play like F-Zero/Wipeout more than Mariokart etc.

Star Fox 64 on the N64 probably runs like shit now and guess a foggy mess. As great as it was in its time.
Thats why i mentioned the 3DS version - its Star Fox 64 but doesn't look like crap , they improved graphics and no framerate stuff. It also actually makes decent use of the 3D too. See also Majora's Mask.
These basically put - are better versions to play than the N64 versions.

The more I play Spiderman the more I like it. The combat annoyed me at first as it felt too similar to the fighting in the Arkham games which I never enjoyed, but as I've gotten used to it and unlocked most of the moves it's become incredibly satisfying. Now that I've got to about 80% through the campaign I'm zipping round all over the place whooping fuck out of everyone and it's amazing.

There's a couple of little irritations in there such as some insultingly easy puzzles as lots of fucking quick time events, but for the most part it's excellent. Gonna platinum it for sure, then trade it in for Red Dead

The side content in Spiderman is pretty shit but I feel compelled to do it all for some treason. Game would be better with less filler and with side missions of the same quality as the main story.

Yeah they annoyed me at first, I was ignoring all the police radio chat for ages, but since I got into the combat I’m loving them. Enjoying the challenges too, some of them are solid. Even enjoyed the tedious landmark photography missions once I started swooping past places and snapping pictures in mid air.

Gotta be the best licensed superhero game ever.

Yeah that's good, seems to work out at about £11-12 for the game comparing it to other prices on the SSD including shipping etc. It's closer to £6 if you can pick up the drive from Bolton.

I'm half tempted and I wasn't really after an SSD or the game, I was more on the market for higher capacity storage really.

Finally getting my own arcade machine, I've wanted one my whole life and finally seen a price I'm willing to pay, it's a brand new modern design but with the design of the original Turtles arcade, £1250 with 960 games built in, 27 inch screen. Can't wait.
