Had an email from amazon a couple of days ago confirming release day delivery of Mario Odessey. Only 3 weeks to go

Happy to see it's only £42 to download and not the usual piss taking £60

Contra 3 on the SNES mini is fucking nails.

I didn't remember some of these games running so badly, Megaman X slows to a crawl at 1fps quite often. Good game though. The controllers are so bad, tiny little bits of cheap plastic that make my hands ache pretty quickly.

Man if any game needs a remaster this is it, it doesn't need much work other than new character models, the pre rendered backgrounds still look great, at the time the graphics were mind blowing and it was like playing the movie

Mega Man X always suffered from horrendous slow down and flicker if I remember correctly.

Are the controllers not original SNES ones then? Not unboxed mine yet...

Was only just talking about this game. It's one of my all-time top 10, felt so ahead of its time in the 90s.
Me and a mate sat up and played it for about 22 hours non stop with a 1/2oz of soap bar when my parents were away one summer and tried to get as many of the alternative endings as possible.

Super Nintendo always suffered from slow down, quite a slow processor compared to the Mega Drive's. That's why shoot 'em ups where always less of a thing on the Super Nintendo.

Yeah they are the same as the original controllers, I just didn't remember them being so bad, they aren't designed for adult hands lol. There's nothing wrong with the d-pad or buttons tbf but it's just not a good design.

I've still got the disc so I think I'll go for one of those different endings, watching 2049 will get me in the mood for it. It's pretty cheap on eBay and easy to get it working.

Just checked and it's available for about a tenner, they must have made quite a lot of copies at the time for it to be that cheap

The 8bitdo clone is far superior. That and their massive joystick which is bloody sexual.

Just broke a controller playing Cuphead. It really is both one of the best games of the year and the most infuriating.

First 10/10 from Angry Joe for a while

While playing this yesterday I did wonder to myself 'has Razor broken a controller to this yet'

Watching that really makes you appreciate the immense effort they put into the individual artwork for each boss fight - nothing is ever the same. Incredible music and sound effects as well! Fresh every time.

It is so good. I wish there were a lot more levels and a more gradual learning curve but for £12 i can't complain.

Hello bbz, I haven't played a video game since the early 2000s. It seems the industry has moved on without me quite swimmingly. Blimey.

It's never too late, jump on the bandwagon m80.

There's games like Twin Peaks, Rick & Morty VR games and all sorts.

My head would probably explode. I gawp at this thread occasionally and even some of the acronyms of the gear people have got make me feel very cold and frightened.

Tried the Destiny 2 raid last night. Fucking hell I was not ready, not just for how difficult it is, but how complex the puzzles are and the steps you have to go through to make progress. Won't be trying that again for a while.

Used to be obsess 3 arcade machines, Simpsons, Turtles and Wrestlefest,

Just needed SF2 Tournament and they would have had the best multiplayer arcade games ever.

It looks a lot worse than it is. Once you've sussed how to to time the parry on the dice you can pick which fights you have to do on the way up to Mr. Dice himself. This means you only ever have to fight 3 bosses and can consistently reach the end with 6hp if you're going for the health ups.

This speedrunner guy is fighting against 5 with one of them being number 9 which probably takes the longest of the lot.
