Haven't got round to reading it yet but A Moveable Feast by Hemingway sounds similar
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Moveable_Feast

A Moveable Feast is a memoir by American author Ernest Hemingway about his years as a struggling young expatriate journalist and writer in Paris in the 1920s. The book describes the author's apprenticeship as a young writer while he was married to his first wife, Hadley Richardson.

Homage to Catalonia is good.

I've just taken delivery of The Road to Wigan Pier.

It's the sequel to The Power of the Dog, which is also very good. All about the cartels (funnily enough) and the war on drugs in Mexico.

I found Wigan Pier a bit dry tbh. The bit about mining is amazing though. Really made me appreciate not having to work down a fucking mine.

Im not usually into Army books, apart from Bravo Two Zero by Andy McNabb. Which actually improves with every read but Ive been really getting into finding out more about the troubles in Northern Ireland.

Long shot, but does anyone have 'Bad Wisdom' by Bill Drummond? I'd very much like to read it but it's £25+ on amazon

Reading Rodigan's autobiography right now. It's fluffy as fuck but some good stories in there. The best bit about it is probably the spine tbh.

I have, but I'm not even sure I'd lend it to people I know.

I know this might sound painfully obvious, but have you checked your district libraries search engine?

I haven't been in a library since I was about 11. And come on, you know DNBA is my first port of call in life.

Most districts let you search their catalogs online gutless. You don't have to go in one to check.
