good book that, goes pretty weird by the end though. Interesting theory the way he puts it across. Theres some follow up ones as well but never read them.

I'm reading Homicide - David Simon. Awesome book really, cant put it down.

Rigged by Ben Mezrich (the bloke who wrote Bringing Down The House, which became the film "21").  It's supposedly based on truth, but I suspect certain aspects have been exaggerated or fabricated for the sake of a good story.  Good for a long flight though...

I never really thought about this being fictionally correct, until flicking through the back of one of my Psychology books I saw 'Rhinehart. L' in the bibliography. Changed my opinion of the book quite a lot seeing that the dude was an actually renowned psychologist before he went all dice crazy.

I just today finished reading Marco Pierre White's autobiography- The Devil in the Kitchen. It was good, but I try not to read too many autobiographies as they always end up being so self-conceited.

Reading 'Born on a blue day' about a high functioning autistic savant who can do insane maths in his head, is fluent in 10 or more languages and learnt icelandic in a week! There is an interesting thing on youtube called brainman all about him, very interesting.

Just finished reading Shantaram. About an Australian convict that escapes prison and flees to India and has some mad adventures with the Bombay mafia etc. Thought it started well but last quarter was utter shit imo. It really started dragging on.
Also recently read a book called the Alchemist by Paulo Coelho, a simple book about 'realising your dreams' , quite corny but quite profound. Went on to read half of another of his books called 11 minutes, load of psuedo religous-sexual rubbish. Think he's a shit author overall.

I wasn't so into that.  It felt a bit like a dated holiday novel.  Okayish, but I'm surprised people are still reading it.

I'm reading lots of comic books at the mo' - Dave Sim's Cerebus is the best I've read recently. Some non-fiction: AD 381 about the rising concern about heresy in the early Christian church is interesting, but I'm worried it too neatly fits and reinforces my own prejudices.  I read a Jeeves and Wooster book last month, which I loved at first, but got a bit bored with as it went on repeating itself.  The Card by Arnold Bennett was gentle and entertaining.  Daniel Dennet's book 'Darwin's Dangerous Idea' which was a bit of a let down.  A lot of it just seemed to be pasted together from other books he'd written.  He's a bright guy, and I really enjoyed the first book of his I read, but I think it's only really worth reading one of them.

I've moved house recently, so ended up reading more while dvds/decks/computers/consoles were in boxes.  I've got to admit - I prefer computer games.

About to start reading Catch 22 by Joseph Heller after numerous recommendations from the forum.

Just finished reading Brent Weeks Night Angel trilogy. Wasn't bad.

I read this not so long ago, is ok. Read loads of Indiana Jones type books recently I think I need to change tack and get a new book phase, they're getting a bit predictable now.

Gonna have to check the recommend thread and get some inspiration for my library trip tomorrow.

I was the opposite - I really struggled to get into it until about half way through.  Excellent book though.  I'm reading Cry Freedom at the moment

Just Finished reading McMafia by Misha Glenny-which was pretty good.
Now reading The Undercover Economist by Tim Harford. Literally only read about ten pages but seems like it's going to be pretty good so far.
