I can't believe that book is going for 12 quid, when it came out i swear it was about £35 for the standard version or £300 for the one with the beautiful Xenomorph cover. Great deal! I've started collecting these hench making of/concept art movie books after how stunning the Blade Runner one was, i do really appreciate high quality paper and printing, it's something i've missed in the digital age.

Too many great moments in that film - Karate kicking schoolgirls in the face ftw!

Leaving Las Vegas and Raising Arizona are HQ Nicolas Cage films.

He is laughably shit in almost everything else though.

those two are quality

i also think he's v good in Adaptation, Bad Lieutenant, Kick Ass, Bringing Out the Dead and Wild At Heart

and they might not be 'great' performances, but i enjoy him in The Rock, Con Air and Face Off a lot too

I don't remember thinking much of Raising Arizona or Wild At Heart despite loving most of both of the directors other movies, I just can't take him seriously. I liked Con Air but it was a very long time ago i saw it. Wicker man remake is a contender for worst movie of all time.

Watched Thor - Ragnorak last night.

Surprisingly enjoyable.  Standard Marvel stuff but funny with it, I like the Marvel films that don't take themselves too seriously.

I'm about 4 years late but watched It Follows last night.
So good. Best horror film I've seen in years. The way it's shot is amazing

Thought it was a bit too ham fisted a metaphor tbh, they might as well have had them all chased by a giant aids monster

I read somewhere that Nic Cage wanted a DVD extra entirely of him kicking people in Wicker Man, but I can't find where I read that so I'll just choose to believe in regardless.

Yeah that was also very nang.
Horror is by far the hardest genre to get right imo.

I just bought a projector so I'm going to rewatch all the classics

Babadook is brilliant. A lot of people I know just didn't get it was a metaphor for grief and complained it was stupid. I think some people need a narrator or something.

I understood what it meant, i just didn't think it was a good movie. It wasn't exactly deep lol. It Follows was nothing special either. Horror rarely does it for me these days tbh.

it's like the whole movie was made just to get people to say 'oh i get it!', the horror aspect was below par and it didn't have anything interesting to say on mental health issues. Probably made people with thick mates feel smart for 'getting it'.

Loved Thor. Jeff Goldblum's evil David Bowie was the highlight for me, and any time a kiwi voice popped up.

Annihilation - What a mental film. Visually stunning and really well acted... I sat through most of it thinking "WTF" but did grow to like it by the end although, I didn't quite get the point of the whole thing. I will wait for more people to start talking about it or a dedicated thread to pop up before putting spoilers but it is def worth a watch.
