Total Recall remake looks meh.

David Cronenberg was lined up originally to make the film before the original Verheoven film.
Should have went back to him for a remake or at least someone interesting. This remake meh...doubt ill even bother going to see it .

no way, didn't know that...would've loved to see what he did with that story

cronenberg doing fucked up sci-fi is the best

This game

is getting made into a big budget film from the director of Final Destination 5 & Horrible Bosses.

WHY

I had this game on the gameboy. If the movies anything like the game, then it'll consist of pelvic thrusting buildings, pulling people out of windows and it will NEVER END.

from amazon:

DeLillo's protagonist this time is a well-heeled American, Eric Packer, who sets out one eventful day for a haircut. Gazing through the windows of his white limousine (and availing himself of its state-of-the-art technology), this self-made millionaire takes in the spectacle of financiers being murdered, the funeral of a rapper and some violent anti-globalisation protests.

it's very deep and beautifully written, i'm a little apprehensive as to how the fantastic prose will translate into dialogue and/or narration...

Watched Ides of March and The Descendants over the last few days.

Both a decent watch, as in I didnt regret watching them.

The Descendants was a pleasant surprise, kept me entertained throughout with what seemed like a boring story at first but I was fairly gripped and it had a few lighthearted moments too.

If you're bored Hall Pass is an ok film. It's a Farelly bros gross out thing. Not as funny as it thinks it is, probably not that popular with the ladies either but some proper funny moments.

I watched Fast & Furious 5 the other day. Terrible terrible acting and a ridiculous storyline. I expected nothing more. 1.3/10

I do like The Rock though.

Watched Tyrranosaur last night. Very bleak, excellent performances tho, especially from the peep show bird. Enjoyed it, but in the same way I enjoyed Nil By Mouth.

I didn't like Bridesmaids either, don't see what all the fuss was about.

They basically tried to make a female version of The Hangover and failed IMO.

Watched Senna last week. Thought it was excellent.

Loved the bit at the end in the press conference when he was asked about his most enjoyable season and he said about when he was go-karting as a teenager. 'Pure racing...no politics or money'

This Must Be The Place

Highly amusing and didn't go the route I expected, I'm glad for not knowing anything about it prior. I did think I'd hate it after the first couple of lines from Penn, but he won me over soon after.

Many loud laughter moments for me too, it has a good balance of poignant and comedy moments. Recommended
Not too sure of the director or their previous output, but there are some really nice sparse, expansive Americana shots.

4/5

Harry Dean Stanton is ollld now. McDormand played well too.

yeah i'm very intrigued by 'cabin in the woods' too, out in a couple of weeks i think?

i watched 'the lincoln lawyer' last night and really enjoyed it, but then i'm generally a sucker for legal thrillers and bongos, so combine the two and i'm in easy-watching heaven
