@ piggle - I have the byron one hanging in my bedroom, don't think I will ever tire of it

Its really nice, I like pictures that instantly draw you in & make you feel relaxed. I've got a few I've been meaning to get framed, attached great sentimental value to some like a big girl.

Yeah, you can just imagine yourself sitting there on the beach doing nothing

sectionate takes some really good photos imo. i think moe syzlack too, but i can't remember.

Cheers man

My problem is that I am to critical of myself (do the same when I mix..) and I always want things to be fucking perfect.  Especially with all the odl buildings, there is to muc symmetry in them, and if i don't catch i don't like it lol

that chapel shot I posted, I took it about 20 times as I was trying to get it totally symmetrical  I was also really hungover which didn't help lol

yeah, that's bournemouth asda good spot. you tend to find the best photos in the shittest places eh?

big version of the train one is below. bit shitty though as my camera's low light performance is a bit noisy.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/ch9sab/2770903756/sizes/o/

photo mags i'd recommend are practical photography, digital photo & digital photographer. steer well clear of photography monthly cos it's just gash, and amateur photographer doesn't contain much info imo.

tripod-wise i've got a velbon sherpa 750R which cost about £80. it's really sturdy and can do low level stuff too....

cheers...

at the moment i've only got a canon 400D with a sigma 10-20, canon 50mm f1.8 and a 105mm macro. got plenty of other bits like a 430EX flash, tripod, remote cables etc. too. looking to upgrade to the canon 5D mk2 when it comes out though, and then maybe think about selling some prints or something.

Does anyone know how to access your desktop setting so i can stretch for my background? Work has disabled my rightclick  slags.

Excuse me, can I smell your pussy?
No you cant.
Must be your feet then.

I have the 10-20 - lush lense.  Although the limatations annoyed me and i ended up buying a sigma 17-70 as well

The only thing i hate about them is that they tell you more about using photoshop than actually taking a photo.  Maybe that is just the magazine that i steal off my brother though...

I've found that with a few of them

Best one I think is SLR monthly or something like that, lots of tips and techniques and loads of photos and tells u how they were taken, i.e shutter speed, exposure etc

See Sig, more like that on my flickr. http://www.flickr.com/photos/olipenman/
Taken with a widepan 6x17cm neg frame.
Really like some of the images here,
@Rudeboy, do you use HDR software, or just tweak RAW files in in PS?

Good advice on the mags guys, was looking at books about photography but maybe the mags are a better idea as there are just loads of photography books an I wouldnt know ehere to start!!

nah, not a fan of hdr....just seems like a cop out for not being able to take a good photo or do proper post-processing.

all i really play with is exposure, contrast, curves, saturation, a bit of dodge and burn and some sharpening.
