Anyone else have problems switching between a mac and PC?
I get things looking perfect in Lightroom on my mac, but then they look too dark on a PC. Pretty sure my mac screen is calibrated properly.
PLS HELP ME NERDS

Been a while since I've been on this thread. Glad its still going, was kinda what got me into photoging more seriously. Whats everyone shooting with these days?

Nikon D500 & Sony A6300 for me, will prob bag a D850 at some point in the next few though.

Those drone shots are sickness, a creative dream. I shoot a lot of surfing and last week in cornwall i saw 5 different drones in the space of an hour. Getting busy up high!

Anyone got any advice / opinions on the Fujifilm X100F?

I'm not an expert but from what I've read it's a very capable fixed lens compact and I plan on maybe going on a photography course soon to get a better knowledge of photography in general.

I'm guessing initially it'd be all gear and no idea but I kind of want something I can grow into.

Money isn't an issue tbh.

I've watched lots of reviews / YouTube videos / seen sample shots and I really like the output.

Please don't make me feel stupid.

EDIT: Mostly going to want to shoot travel / street / family stuff.

I've heard good things about that camera. Fixed lens will work well with travel and street photography.

I have heard the same; quite a few on a photography forum like the Fuji high end cameras

I have the x100T and it's great for street photography and travel. All the bad things about the x100T have been fixed with the x100F.

Only buy it if you’re really gonna learn how to use it. Otherwise get a simple compact with a zoom like a Sony RX100 series IMO.

Takes a while to get used to a single focal length which is not ideal for a starting photographer who just wants holiday snaps. 35mm is a great focal length but obviously results in the need for careful composition and huge compromises if you need to shoot indoors (not wide enough) or want to take a photo of a toucan in a tree.

If you really invest the time with this Fuji, you’ll learn a shit load quickly and get some great results. So if that’s the plan, buy it 🙂👍

Thanks for the information guys.

I think I'm going to go for it. It seems like a camera I could build a relationship with - something I'd want to take out with me a lot. Not having to worry about lenses, etc. but just learn the camera, learn the right situations for it and get some nice photos.

A guy who reviewed it on YouTube said the same as you Sy; that even as a beginner - the X100F's layout and accessibility to manual controls is so intuitive that you'll pick up a lot in a short space of time.

From doing a bit of research I think I'll grab a B+W 49mm clear filter and a JCC square hood for it. It seems to be a common setup and people say the filter protects the lens and the hood will keep flare down which can happen with this camera.

Might pop to Jessops tomorrow and get it on pay nothing for 12 months 0% finance deal.

Is there anything else I should get as a priority? What sort of stuff would I need to carry for a day out in Tokyo for example?

I like the armchair shot Si (I would) - not sure about the others, compositions don't really do it for me if I am honest. I get what you are trying to achieve, but meh. Sorry.

Spare battery, memory card etc, perhaps a tripod of some kind?
