Ive had mates telling me that this is pretty much confirmed. Just wanted to know what other ppl had heard as I NEED to see them this year.

    Almost definately going to happen.

The other headliners are rumored to be The Killers and Metallica, but expect pints of beer to be at least £4 this year as they dropped Carling as the sponsor .

I dont get how dropping Carling would make it 'less commercial', it just means that they can charge through the nose for a pint now, money grabbing twats.  Iv been going to Leeds evry year since 2001 and the lineups have stayed consistently brilliant and diverse and it seems to get more popular evry year. Also the last fiew years have seen a lot less of the mindless vandalism and rioting that normally happens on the Sunday night.

If people wanted to go to another no-brainer metalheads/punk festival, they should buy a ticket for Download or Ozzfest (if thats still going)

I think Mean Fiddler have shot themselves in the foot, not that I care, im too fucked most of the time to make it to the main arena.

the carling thing is bullshit, you used to be able to buy 2% own brand tesco lager and bring it upto the carling amnesty bit and exchange it for a chilled 4% carling, big

Ozzfest was big, aint been goin for awhile now, download is the main metal festival

Would love to see RATM, might pop to Reading on a day ticket if it is confirmed. Any idea when an announcement might be made?

If it's without him it would be Audioslave. They are back together fully afaIk.

Might be worth going if they are playing. I saw em at Leeds- last ever gigs in this country- was fooking amazing.

yeah its the original line up.
will have to choose between leeds and reading, hopefully rage will play the saturday at one so i can get back to london for the carnival.
i even looked at T in the Park but they dont seem to sell single tickets for just the saturday.

I have been on to the Reading forums and Colin Murray (twat) dropped some sort of hint again. I would put money on rage against the machine playing the friday/sunday night. original line up aswell. gonna be sick cause all their albums are top notch (something you can't say for a lot of bands).

they are playing pink pop in holland for def in May and they are playing at Oxygen in Ireland...so its not the end of the world if they dont play.  Saw them in 2000 at Reading and they were the best thing there by far!! Wanted to see them play in '96 too but my mum wouldn't let me go lol...the joy of being 13

It's hard to accuse RATM of being sellouts, but T in The Park is a total faggot festival, as are Leeds are Reading these days.

RATM should organise their own festivals, because there's not going to be a decent riot at a faggot huge white sunglasses indie festival like T in the Park or Reading.
